Traffic Stop Leads to Finding of Explosive Devices, Narcotics, and Prescriptions as well as DUI Charges

A traffic stop lead to the finding of explosive devices, narcotics, and prescriptions in Pine Grove Township.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Wednesday, February 12th, 2020 around 5:15pm, a traffic stop was initiated on Matthew Zelinsky, 33, of Pine Grove in a 2002 Audi TTRS on Tremont Road in Pine Grove Township.

Police say during the traffic stop, multiple M Type explosive devices were observed in plain view inside the vehicle and Zelinsky was found to be in possession of multiple narcotics and prescription medication.

Zelinsky also showed signs of impairment and was arrested for driving under the influence.

The explosives were removed by a Pennsylvania State Police Hazardous Devices and Explosive Team.

Zelinsky was be facing multiple charges from the incident.
