Girardville Man Charged with Indecent Assault

The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville are investigating an indecent assault that allegedly took place in Girardville on Monday.


According to Police, an investigation revealed that on March 1st, 2020, around 6:00am, Mark Rhode, 46, of Girardville was visiting a woman at her residence on West Main Street when he began sexually assault the victim.

After a struggle, the victim was able to kick him off her and flee.

Police took Rhode into custody a short time later.

A criminal complaint was filed against Rhode who was charged with aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, strangulation, unlawful restraint, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, and harassment.

Rhode was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge James Ferrier and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight bail.

UPDATE:  Rhode posted bail and was released on 03/02/2020
