Mahanoy Area Wins Viewers Choice; Saint Clair, Tri-Valley, and Pottsville Also Receive "Whats So Cool About Manufacturing?" Awards

On March 3rd, 2020, the "Whats So Cool About Manufacturing?" awards were presented to the winners, including some from Schuylkill County.

Presented by Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), the Student Video Contest: “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” (WSCM) gave students in Berks and Schuylkill Counties the opportunity to network with local manufacturers as well as gain new perspectives, record their experiences and present them in an educational and “cool” way through documentary video production. The program was created to generate excitement that draws students towards considering manufacturing career paths to create a 21st century workforce.

Outstanding Creativity - Tri-Valley

Outstanding Cool - Conrad Weiser Middle School
Outstanding Team Spirit - Oley Valley Middle School
Outstanding Educational Value - Wilson Southern Middle School

Outstanding Career Pathway -  (TIE) - D.H.H. Lengel Middle School (Pottsville) & Brandywine Heights Middle School
Outstanding Outreach Plan - Mahanoy Area
Outstanding Brand Placement - Hamburg Middle School

Viewers Choice - Mahanoy Area
Outstanding Overall Program - Reading Southern Middle School
