State Police Investigating Over a Dozen Deceased Chickens Found at Home in Girardville

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident of possible animal cruelty at a home in Girardville.


On Thursday, March 2nd, 2020, around 9:20am, troopers responded to 229 West Main Street, Girardville for a house check.

Troopers discovered approximately 18 deceased chickens in "skeletonized form" on an enclosed back porch of the residence.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact the Frackville Barracks at (570) 874-5300.

  1. Seriously? This is being investigated now?! The Rangers Hose company went there for a fire call over 6 months and they were aware of dead chickens there then and cops were aware of it also. How is it just being investigated now? I can not believe the chickens were left there to decompose all this time.
