Auburn Man Arrested After Burglarizing and Assaulting Woman in Her Home

An Auburn man was arrested after he forced his way into a home and robbed a woman in April.


According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on April 16th, 2020, between 7:00pm and 10:00pm, Clayton Pepe, 31, of Auburn forced his way into a home on Green Tree Drive, West Brunswick Township.

Once inside, Pepe struck a woman and proceeded to strangle her in an attempt to take her cell phone and car keys.

Pepe was able to forcibly remove the items from the woman, but she was able to retrieve both items and flee the scene to get away from Pepe.

On April 22nd, 2020, Pepe was taken into custody and charged with burglary, strangulation, intimidating a witness, robbery, terroristic threats, theft by unlawful taking, false imprisonment, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, and criminal mischief.

H was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier who set bail at $20,000 cash. 

Pepe posted bail and was released later that day.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 23rd, 2020.
