CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: Schuylkill County Adds 16 New Positive Cases; Statewide Death Total Surpasses 5,000

On Saturday, May 23rd, 2020, Schuylkill County added 16 new Positive COVID-19 cases.

In Schuylkill County, the current total of positive cases in Schuylkill County is 576 with 3,973 having tested negative for the virus.

The Department of Health's updated information as of May 23rd, 2020 reported that Schuylkill County had no new deaths with the county death total standing at 26.

The daily update the Department of Health also shows that Pennsylvania diagnosed 725 new cases Statewide since Friday's update.  The current number of  Statewide confirmed cases is 66,983 as of Midnight.

The Statewide death total stands at 5,096. 

According to the Department of Health 321,469 have tested negative since testing began.

Berks: 3,845 Cases; 292 Deaths
Carbon: 227 Cases; 22 Deaths
Columbia:  342 Cases; 29 Deaths
Dauphin: 1,061 Cases; 62 Deaths
Lebanon: 900 Cases; 24 Deaths
Lehigh:  3,628 Cases; 202 Deaths
Luzerne: 2,631 Cases; 135 Deaths
Northumberland: 164 Cases;  3 Deaths

On Friday afternoon, Governor Wolf is expected to announce the guidelines for counties to move to the "Green Phase" as well the next round of counties to move to the "Yellow Phase".
