Drainage work on Route 309 near Tamaqua to Begin This Week

PennDOT has announced road work that will take place in West Penn Township and Tamaqua over the next month.


The work is reported to take place along Route 309, which also includes the West Penn Pike and Chestnut Street, between Route 443 and Spruce Street.

Drainage inlets will be replaced and it will include lane restrictions while the work is done.

Crews will begin work on Tuesday, May 27th, 2020 on the northbound lanes first, then after about a week and a half, shift to the southbound lanes.

Work is estimated to be completed by June 24th, 2020.  Rain will cause delays in the project.
