Mount Carmel Man Injured in Crash near Ashland/Centralia Early Wednesday

A Mount Carmel man was taken to the hospital after a crash near Ashland early Wednesday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Bloomsburg, around 1:00am, emergency personnel were dispatched to the North Memorial Boulevard, near the Ashland/Conyngham Township line near the intersection with Snake Road.

According to Troopers, the crash occurred as Christian Castellano, 19, of Mount Carmel was traveling east on Snake Road and failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection.

Castellano travelled through the intersection and struck an embankment.

The Ford Focus Castellano was driving sustained disabling front end damage and was towed from the scene by Klischer Motors.

Castellano was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.  A passenger in the vehicle, Shawn Spotts, 26, of Mount Carmel was not injured.

Castellano will be cited for the crash.

Responding to the scene were members from the Aristes Fire Company, Centralia Fire Company, Ashland Fire Company, and Area Services.
