House Fire Quickly Knocked by Fast Acting Neighbors and Firefighters in Frackville

Thanks to fast acting neighbors, a house fire was stopped before causing any major damage to a home in Frackville.

Around 2:45am, Thursday, fire crews were called to the 300 Block of West Spring Street in Frackville for a possible structure fire.

Frackville Police were the first on scene and confirmed a working fire on the back porch of 326 West Spring and spreading to the 2nd floor.

The neighbors in 328 and 324 were able to use hoses to keep the fire at bay until fire crews arrived.

The fire severely damaged the back porch of the home at 326 and melted the siding of 328.

Firefighters remained on scene for approximately an hour checking for extensions and ventilating the home.

According to Frackville Fire Chief Bill Lindenmuth, the cause of the fire was a grill on the back porch and was ruled accidental.  No injuries were reported.

Responding to the scene were firefighters from the Goodwill Fire Company, Altamont Fire Company,  Friendship Fire Company, Shenandoah Ambulance, Frackville Police, and Butler Township Police.
