According to the State Police at Stonington, around 8:45am, Saturday, a report was received of a deceased individual found in a wooded area near Bates Road, in East Cameron Township, just west of Helfenstein near the Schuylkill/Northumberland County line.
Members of the State Police Troop FSU responded to the scene as part of the investigation.
Investigators were at the scene most of the day and as of 6:00pm Saturday, the identity of the victim has not been released.
The Northumberland County Coroner and a Deputy Coroner were also at the scene as well as many other Northumberland County Fire Companies.
The investigation is still ongoing.
