Pottsville Man Accidentally Shoots Himself in the Hand

The Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville responded to an incident on Tuesday where man accidentally shot himself.

According to troopers, on Tuesday, July 21st, 2020 around 7:30pm, a 31 year old Pottsville man was target shooting along the Burma Road in Blythe Township with his Taurus 357 Sig Sauer when the firearm malfunctioned.

As the victim attempted to clear the jam, the gun went off causing a superficial gunshot wound to his left hand.

The victim drove himself to Geisinger St. Lukes Hospital in Orwigsburg where he was treated and released.
