Man in Custody After State Police Stop Burglary in Progress in Brandonville

A man is locked up in prison after he was caught by police burglarizing a business in Brandonville.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, on Wednesday, July 1st, 2020 around 12:15am, troopers were dispatched to Nordic Tool and Die on Main Boulevard in Brandonville, East Union Township for a report of a burglary in progress.

A neighbor had noticed a red SUV parked next to the business.  It was reported to police that a male exited the vehicle and used a pallet that was placed on top of an air conditioning unit to gain access to the roof.

As police arrived, they found they found a Red GMC Envoy parked beside the building.  Police then noticed Gregory Fritsch, 30, of Ringtown exiting the front door of the building, where he was taken into custody.

A search of the building found that the roof entree door was broken into pieces and multiple bags were found outside the roof door.  A search of Fritsch led to the finding of a screwdriver and gloves.

Fritsch was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Rossi on charges of burglary, criminal trespass, theft, possessing instruments of a crime, and criminal mischief and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison on $25,000 cash bail. Fritsch later posted bail on Thursday, July 2nd, 2020.
