2020 Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5k Goes Virtual

After postponing the 2020 Yuengling Light Lager Jogger 5K once, organizers have now been forced to move the event virtual due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the event's web site, "The race has moved to a virtual-only event, due to ongoing public health concerns and the guidelines of local governments. We explored numerous approaches to safely execute a live, in-person event and in the end we could not envision a way to gather together in compliance with safety guidelines. We understand this is disappointing news for all of us, but the safety and well-being of our participants, sponsors, volunteers, spectators and others are our top priority. While we are unable to celebrate in-person , we are excited about the opportunity to bring the 8th annual event to you virtually. We wish we could see each and every one of you in person this year, but like so many events and races across the country, we are going VIRTUAL!"

The event was originally set for April 25th, 2020 then rescheduled to October 10th, 2020.

Organizers said they will be mailing bibs and t-shirts to the 3,500 registrants so they can complete the event on their own.

Registrants have been asked to log into http://www.lagerjogger.com/ to make sure to update their address information.  Bibs and t-shirts are expected to be mailed by August 26th, 2020.

Once registrants complete the virtual 5K, they will be asked to send in their times to record and compare to others.

Anyone who has registered for the 2020 race will also be able to sign up early for 2021 race.
