Patrick, D. Moran, 83, of Pottsville, entered into eternal rest Tuesday evening at Schuylkill Center Genesis Eldercare.

Born March 9, 1937 in Palo Alto, he was the son of the late Joseph J. and Ivy B. (Martin) Moran.

Patrick was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church, Pottsville where he was also a trustee and an usher.

He was a 1955 graduate of Pottsville High School.

Patrick proudly served his country while serving in the United States Army.

He began his career as an engineer with the Pennsylvania Railroad and retired from Conrail.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, William M., Joseph B., Thomas P., Francis R., James J. John F. Moran; and a sister Geraldine Moran Robinson.

Patrick is survived by a brother, Dennis M. Moran; sisters, Mary E. Moran, Joan M. Wagner, and Jeannette H. Furness, all of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Private Funeral Services will be held at the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home 515 West Market Street Pottsville. Interment with military honors will be held on the grounds of Calvary Cemetery, Hillside.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to either the First Baptist Church 701 Mahantongo Street Pottsville PA 17901 or the Schuylkill EMS.

Michelle Smith, 55, of Frackville, died Saturday August 8, 2020 at her residence,

Born in Pottsville, May 25, 1965, She was a daughter of Joan Hinkle Bower Yankiewicz and the late Samuel Bower.

Michelle worked as a Chef at several area restaurants.

Surviving are daughter Marisa Moyer of Orwigsburg and a brother Michael Mock of Auburn.

Private Services were held at the convenience of the family.

Nice-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel M. Shoener
, age 89, of Tamaqua, PA , passed away on Sunday, August 9th, 2020 at the Hometown Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born in Pottsville, PA on July 14, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Verna (Romberger) Mennig.

Hazel was a homemaker who loved being with her children and all of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, John Samuel Shoener Sr. on October 22, 2002, a son Daniel Shoener, and sisters and brothers.

Hazel is survived by three daughters: Lisa Underwood and her husband Tom, Crystal Shoener, and Brenda Rubright and her husband Raymond; two sons: John Shoener Jr. and his wife Ruth Ann and Shawn Shoener; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 12Noon on Thursday, August 13th, with Rev. Lorraine Heckman officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Thursday from 10am-12Noon at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be held private.

Janis M. Wenzel
, beloved mother and grandmother, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, August 10, 2020, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, at 89 years of age..

Born Saturday, March 28, 1931 in White Haven the daughter of the late Frank and Edna (Flynn) Jones. She was also predeceased by her husband William Wenzel on February 16, 1986; daughter, Betsy E. DeAngelo on April 4, 2019.

Surviving are her children; Ann M. Jones wife of Bill of Tamaqua, Janis Reimiller wife of Tom of Tamaqua, William F. "Billy" Wenzel of Nesquehoning, Sharon M. VanBuskirk wife of Michael of Tamaqua, Frank G. Wenzel and his wife Lisa of New Ringgold; sisters, Patsy Howell of Manheim, Maxine Bachman of Spokane, WA; 15 grand children; 15 great grand children.

A graduate of Tamaqua High School, Janis was an active member of Bethany E.C.C. of Tamaqua, having taught Sunday School for many years. She enjoyed sewing, and basket weaving. Janis was a member of the former Tamaqua Women's Club, and was active in the Tamaqua Y.M.C.A. Swim Team Boosters. She revealed in following all her children and grandchildren's sporting and extracurricular events. Janis will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Janis retired from the Tamaqua Area School District having worked as a secretary in the Administration Office. She managed her families Lansford Bakery, Wenzel's Bakery which was a main stay of Tamaqua and Lansford for many years. Many area residents will remember Janis as a cashier at Leiby's Restaurant in South Tamaqua.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday evening August 14, 2020 at 7:30 P.M. from Bethany E.C.C. of 223 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252. Rev. Kevin Roberts to officiate. Friends may call at church on Friday evening from 5 to 7:30 P.M.

A Graveside Committal Service will be held on Saturday morning August 15, 2020, 10 o'clock A.M. at Odd Fellows Cemetery Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
