Teen Flown After Being Struck by Vehicle on Route 183

 A teen was flown after being struck by a vehicle in North Manheim Township on Monday.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, the incident occurred on Monday, September 7th, just before 7:00pm, on Route 183, in North Manheim Township near the intersection with Old Mill Road.

Troopers say witnesses told them that a 14 year old male looked like he was going to cross Route 183 when he hesitated then ran directly in front of a vehicle driven by Mackenzie Kohr, 23, of Schuylkill Haven.

The teen was conscious and alert at the scene before being transported by New Ringgold Ambulance to a waiting helicopter and flown to Lehigh Valley Medical Cedar Crest.

Route 183 was closed for a short time while the crash was investigated.
