"The Grinch" Arrested After Drug Raid in Minersville Wednesday Morning

Law enforcement raided a home in Minersville Wednesday morning which led to the finding of methamphetamine and one arrest.

According to Minersville Police Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers, on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020, around 8:00am, a search warrant was executed at 438 New Castle Street, Minersville, and on a dark gray 2005 Chevrolet sedan.  Both are owned by Darrin Wayne Lynch, 51, also known as "the Grinch".

Lynch was found in the basement of the home where law enforcement also found $445.00 in currency, two business cards identifying Lynch's drug trafficking business, a digital scale, and other items.

A search of Lynch's vehicle led to the find of a Morton Salt container with a false bottom which contained a bag containing a crystalized substance, 17 glassine baggies containing a crystalized substance weighing approximately 23.3 grams, a ledger/owe sheet, multiple phones and tables, and other items.

A field test of the crystalized substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Due to the findings, it lead police to believe Lynch is involved in drug trafficking from the home and charged him with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and criminal use of a communication facility.

Lynch was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Kilker who set back at $25,000 straight cash bail and remanded to Schuylkill County Prison
