Man Wanted for Escaping Berks County Correctional Facility Taken into Custody in Ashland

On Friday, a man wanted for escaping a Berks County Correctional Facility was taken into custody in Ashland.

According to Ashland Police Officer Daniel Weikel, on Friday, October 23rd, 2020, around 10:40am, Ashland Police were contacted to assist the Schuylkill County Adult Probation Office.

Probation officers told Police that they had a male who was possibly giving them a false identification.  At the scene, the male identified himself as Nick Johnson.  A further investigation revealed that the male's real name was Nicholas Antony Mosher who was wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police of Reading for escaping a correctional facility.

Mosher was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana, syringes and $300 in cash.

Mosher was taken into custody and transferred to Pennsylvania State Police Troopers from Frackville.

Additional charges of drug possession and providing of false identification are pending from the Ashland Police.
