One Flown After Motorcycle and SUV Collide in Walker Township

A man from Exeter was flown after he suffered injuries in a crash in Walker Township last weekend.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the crash occurred on Saturday, August 10th, 2020 around 3:45pm on Catawissa Road in Walker Township.

Police say Susanne Heisler, 58, of Tamaqua was traveling south on Catawissa Road in a Kia Soul and Brian Szollosy, 50, of Exeter was traveling north on a Harley Davidson DynaGlide motorcycle.

Heisler was reportedly making a left turn into the Leiby's Farm Market Parking lot and she told police she did not see Szollosy.  Heisler crossed into the path of Szollosy when the motorcycle struck the side of the SUV and was thrown from the motorcycle.

Szollosy was initially treated at the scene by Tamaqua EMS before being airlifted to Lehigh Valley Cedar Crest for his injuries.

Szollosy was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Assisting police at the scene was members of the New England Fire Company.
