Search Continues for Man Wanted for Assault in Shenandoah

Shenandoah Police have released photos of a man wanted for assaulting his neighbor in Shenandoah on Tuesday.

According to Shenandoah Police, an arrest warrant has been issued for Junior Abanto, 38 year old, of Shenandoah.

Police say on Tuesday afternoon, around 3:00pm, officers were dispatched to the unit block of North West Street, Shenandoah for a large fight.

Through an investigation, officers learned that Abanto assaulted a 76 year old neighbor with a piece of metal after a verbal altercation, then fled the area prior to police arriving.

The victim was flown from the Shenandoah Helipad for a head injury.

Abanto is described as a white Hispanic male approximately 5’10” 160lbs.

The arrest warrant was obtained through Magisterial District Judge Kilker's office on charges of Aggravated assault – attempts to cause serious bodily injury, Aggravated assault – attempts to cause bodily injury with a deadly weapon, 2 counts of simple assault, Recklessly endangering another person, and Disorderly conduct.
