A Mahanoy City man is facing careless driving charges after falling asleep at the wheel and running into a State Trooper.
According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Frackville, the incident occurred on Friday, November 6th, 2020, around 9:10pm on East Centre Street in Mahanoy City.
Police say a State Trooper was driving east on East Centre Street in Mahanoy City when Eric Bettis, 44, of Mahanoy City was traveling west. Bettis reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crossed over the center line into oncoming traffic and struck the State Trooper's vehicle head on.
No injuries were reported by Bettis will face careless driving charges.
