Jennifer A. Burke
, 41 of Ashland, PA passed away on Friday, November 27th, 2020.

Born in Ashland, PA, September 24, 1979 the daughter of Debra (Halko) Palewicz and her husband, Tom; and John Burke and his wife Karen Moran.

She was a 1998 graduate of North Schuylkill High School and graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Master’s Degree. She had a contagious laugh and enjoyed boating, water skiing and adventures.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three children: Aiden and Breelynn Burke, Girardville; and Jack McClarren, Florida . One sister: Janice Burke, Ashland.

Grandmother, Shirley Halko. Aunts: Mary Ann Burke, Girardville; Kathryn Halko, Ashland; Lisa Foulds (Rich), Ashland; and Joyce Burke, Shenandoah. Uncles: Joseph Halko, Jr. (Marian), Ashland; William Halko (Patricia), Ashland; and Kevin Shilling( Ruth Ann), Ashland. Cousins: Joseph Halko III, Tennessee; Katie Chuma, Frackville; Will, Luke, and Sadie Halko, Ashland; Nick Troutman, Philadelphia; Amanda Staltzman, Pitman; Samantha Shreffler, Pitman.

She was preceded in death by her Great Grandmother, Anna Kane; Grandfather Joseph Halko, Sr.; Grandparents, John and Ann Burke; Uncle, Michael Burke; and Grandparents, Ann and Hayden Shilling.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 3, 2020 at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Ashland with Monsignor Edward Coyle officiating. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Viewing will be on Wednesday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM and Thursday morning 9:00-10:45 AM at the church.

Kareem Bussey, 36 years of age of Tamaqua passed away much too soon on Friday November 27, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital 17th & Chew Street in Allentown.

Born in Philadelphia the son of the late Christopher Burns, and Ethel Mae (Bussey). Kareem was also predeceased by his step mother Deniece Carter.

He is survived by; his wife, Natalia A. (Slivinski) Bussey; sons, Kareem, Jr., Isiah, Davonte, Breyon; siblings; his siblings on his mother's side are; Hakeem Bussey, Teresa Bussey, Thomas Bussey, Troy Bussey, Josh Bussey, Joey Bussey;
siblings on his father's side; Natasha Carter, Christopher Carter, Felicia Carter, Katrina Carter, Vincent Burns, Dominique Carter, Deniece Carter, Jacqueline Carter, Sharnise Carter, Kimberly Carter, Tyrell Carter, Tymere Carter, Shyheed Carter, Nasir Carter
Amir Carter, Malik Carter, Bryan Carter, Tanaja Burns, Tori Burns, Taraij Burns. Many nieces and nephews also survive Kareem as well as his best friend Jordon Watkins.

Kareem was a devoted husband, father, and brother. He enjoyed shooting hoops, writing and listening to music. He liked to spend time on the computer and gaming.

Shirley M. (Hummel) Paleskie
, 87, formerly of Shenandoah, passed away Thursday night, November 26, 2020 at Rosewood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Schuylkill Haven.

Born May 3, 1933, in Pine Grove, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Viola (Owens) Hummel.

Shirley was a graduate of Pine Grove Area High School.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a dietary aide at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center.

Shirley was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Shenandoah, and the former Annunciation BVM Church.

She was a loving mom and nana who treasured her family.

Surviving are her son, Donald Maberry and his wife, Linda, of Cressona; two grandsons, Donald Maberry Jr. of Atlanta, Ga. and Eric Maberry, of Cressona.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. in Divine Mercy Church, 232 W. Cherry St., Shenandoah, with Monsignor Ronald C. Bocian, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will follow in Annunciation BVM Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A visitation will be held prior to Mass on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the church. All state and federal COVID-19 guidelines and regulations will be observed; masks and social distancing will be required.

Daryl E. Snody
, 71, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at his daughter's home in Lykens after a courageous six month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Daryl was born on April 26, 1949, a son of the late Arnold and Elva Minnich Snody. He was a 1967 graduate of Williams Valley High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era. Daryl was a retired tool and die repairman from TE Connectivity, Lickdale.

He was a member of the Ashlar Lodge #570 F&AM, Lykens and the Tower City American Legion.

He enjoyed spending time in Florida during the winter months, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, going to the casino, yard sales, flea markets, fishing, and being a member of the Civil War Reenactment group. Daryl had a passion for studying history, especially military history.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Karl Snody, 2015; a sister, Kay Machamer and an infant brother, Ronnie Snody.

Surviving are his daughter, Angela M. Clough and her husband John, Lykens; two grandchildren, Garrett Clough, Lykens and Amber Snody, Pottsville; a great granddaughter, Addilyn; two sisters Diane Looney, Tower City and Darlene Rissinger, Valley View. Nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family with his daughter, Angela, a Certified Celebrant/Funeral Director officiating.
