Pottsville Man Admits to Sexually Assaulting a Minor

A Pottsville man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison for sexually assaulting a 9 year old girl.
According to Chief of Police Richard Wojeichowsky, on Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, Pottsville Bureau of Police Det. Joseph Welsh filed a criminal complaint charging Michael Adam Heck, 40, Pottsville with Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse, Indecent Assault, Indecent Exposure, Sexual Abuse of Children, Unlawful Contact with a minor, Corruption of Minors and Endangering the Welfare of Children.

Heck was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Plachko who set bail at $250,000 cash and Heck was then committed to the Schuylkill County Prison.

Wojiechowsky said the investigation began on Friday, December 11th, 2020 when Ptl Ann Flail received an initial report in which a 9 year old city juvenile had disclosed that she had been the victim of inappropriate sexual contact committed by Heck inside his city home.

During the subsequent investigation by Detective Welsh, a search warrant for Heck's residence was obtained and executed by department officers on the morning of Wednesday, December 16th, 2020, which resulted in the seizure of multiple items of evidentiary value that corroborated the information provided by the juvenile.

Heck was taken into custody at that time and transported to City Hall where he was formally interviewed by Welsh and admitted to sexually assaulting the minor on multiple occasions within his residence.
