Fugitive Wanted in Connection with Shooting Found Hiding in Attic in McAdoo

A man was arrested on Tuesday in McAdoo that was wanted for a shooting near Wilkes Barre.
On August 6, 2020, the Hanover Township Police Department, of Luzerne County, investigated a shooting in the 1100 block of South Main Street. As a result of their investigation, officers obtained an arrest warrant charging Taquil Lishemel Baley, a 21 year old Wilkes-Barre man with Aggravated Assault, weapon offenses, and other lesser included offenses. Attempts to find Baley were unsuccessful and the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Fugitive Task Force was asked to apprehend him.

Yesterday, January 5th, 2021 at about 11:00 a.m., members of the fugitive task force checked a home in the first block of East Blain Street in McAdoo, Schuylkill County and arrested Baley after finding him hiding in an attic. He was turned over to the Luzerne County officials for processing and arraignment.

United States Marshal Martin J. Pane stated, “It’s the Marshals Services’ duty to ensure that those charged with serious crimes have their day in court. It is my sincere hope that the affected communities will find some measure of comfort knowing this suspect will face justice.”

The USMS Fugitive Task Force in the Middle District of Pennsylvania is comprised of 20 state, county and local police agencies, including: the Pennsylvania State Police; the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole; the Wilkes-Barre Police Department; the Kingston Police Department; the Kingston Township Police Department; the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office; and, the Scranton Police Department – all of whom participated in this investigation.
