According to the Berks County Sheriff's Office, on January 22, 2021, the Berks County Sheriff's Office Warrants Division and U.S. Marshal Task Force arrested Cordell Thomas, 32, in the 300 Block of Pine Street, Reading.
Thomas was wanted on third-degree murder charges filed by the Pottsville Police Department for the death of his 3-month-old child who died due to blunt force trauma to the head on September 24th, 2020.
Thomas was charged with Murder of the Third Degree, aggravated assault, involuntary manslaughter, endangering the welfare of children, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
Thomas was brought back to Schuylkill County where he was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Reiley and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after being denied bail.
