UPDATE: Butler Township Police Identify Victims of Friday's Fatal Fire

The Butler Township Police have identified the victims in a fatal fire that occurred early Friday.

According to Chief of Police Edward Tarantelli, on Friday January 22, 2021 at 12:30am emergency personnel were dispatched to a house fire at 34 Brown Lane. 

Upon arrival, officers and responding personnel found a fully involved structure fire. 

Tarantelli confirmed early reports that there four residents within the home at the start of the fire.

Two residents were able to make it out of the home, one uninjured and one was flown to Geisinger Medical Center with unknown injuries after jumping from a roof. 

The remaining residents were unable to escape and were located deceased within the residence. 

The victims were identified as Alison Marie Houser, 29 and her brother Andrew John Charriez, 13. 

State Police Fire Marshals arrived later Friday morning to investigate the cause of the fire. 

Assisting at the scene were Pennsylvania State Police, Ashland Police, Frackville Police, West Mahanoy Twp. Police, Shenandoah Police, Fountain Springs Fire Company, Lavelle Fire Company, Englewood Fire Company, Altamont Fire Company, Washington Fire Co, American Fire Co., local tanker task force, Ashland EMS, Shenandoah EMS, Life Flight 5 and the Schuylkill County Coroners Office.
