AROUND SCHUYLKILL COUNTY: Shenandoah Valley Recognizes Alumni Who Pursued Career with the Pennsylvania State Police

The Shenandoah Valley School District recently honored a graduate as part of an ongoing tradition in the school district.

In 2016, the Shenandoah Valley Student Council had erected a special plaque in the high school lobby to recognize alumni from Shenandoah, Shenandoah Valley, & West Mahanoy high schools who went on to pursue a career in law enforcement serving as members of the Pennsylvania State Police.

The most recently inducted alumnus is John Szczyglak who graduated from Shenandoah Valley in 2012 and Bloomsburg University in 2016 with a degree in Criminal Law Enforcement and now becomes the 54th alumnus to be enshrined on this plaque.

Shown seated in the photo is Trooper Szczyglak flanked by his parents John and Barbara Szczyglak. Standing L-R SV Superintendent Brian Waite, and SV School Board President Daniel Salvadore.
