Lehigh Valley Health Network Unveils New Fleet of COVID-19 Mobile Vaccination Vehicles

Thanks to Bennett Toyota in Allentown, Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) has a few new tools when it comes to distributing COVID-19 vaccines to people throughout the region. Bennett Toyota donated three new vehicles to LVHN, which will be used as part of LVHN’s COVID-19 mobile vaccination unit.

LVHN began the COVID-19 mobile vaccination unit in January as a way to reach large concentrations of people eligible for the vaccine, but unable to get to hospitals or drive-through clinics. Over 2,000 people have been vaccinated through the program, mostly at skilled nursing facilities and personal care homes not served by commercial pharmacies.

“Thanks to Bennett Toyota, we will be able to get to more people who need the vaccine, specifically our neighbors who were disproportionately affected by the pandemic,” says Brian A. Nester, DO, MBA, LVHN’s President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO). “We are grateful for their generosity and look forward to doing our part to help the community.”

The vehicles will be used to transport vaccines, IT infrastructure such as computers and the medical team. The COVID-19 mobile vaccination unit serves all areas of our region and will be going to senior high rises, community centers and other facilities to reach community members with limited transportation and other access barriers.

“LVHN is in the business of saving lives and at Bennett Toyota, we are happy to help,” says Rob Bennett, President and owner of Bennett Toyota. “We are honored to provide these vehicles to LVHN and hope they will assist in distributing the vaccine to even more people throughout our community.”
