One in Custody After Police Pursuit Ends in Branchdale

A Lebanon County man is locked up in Schuylkill County Prison after leading State Police in a pursuit across Schuylkill County over the weekend.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Schuylkill Haven, on Saturday, March 20th, 2021, around 2:30am, Troopers observed a grey Subaru Legacy parked outside the Sunoco gas station on Suedberg Road in Pine Grove Township.

The gas station was closed at that time and when Troopers approached, the vehicle quickly left.

Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle for a registration violation but the driver continued and led State Police in a 15-mile pursuit that ended in Branchdale when the vehicle became disabled on a muddy road.

The driver attempted to flee on foot but was taken into custody a short time later.

The driver, Travis Gorey, 29, of Lebanon, was also found to have two outstanding felony arrest warrants.

State Police also ran the vehicle's VIN and found that it was reported stolen from the State Police at Hamburg's area.

Gorey was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge David Plachko and locked up in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $100,000 bail.
