Lisa A. Prettyman, 58, of Middletown, DE passed away Friday, February 26th, at her mother's residence in Pine Grove.

Born in Pine Grove,on November 9, 1962, a daughter of Ruth (Heffner) Barbetta wife of Richard, Pine Grove and Dave Moyer, Schuylkill Haven.

She was a graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School and then attended Bloomsburg University where she got her Bachelor's Degree. Lisa was self employed as a CPA.

In addition to her parents, Lisa is survived by her daughters Kayla Kinley Haberstroh, Camden, DE and Lauren Elizabeth Haberstroh, Balitmore, MD.

A Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, April 10 at 1100 St. Anne’s Blvd, Middletown, DE 19709 from 2-6pm.

Carol E. Frantz, 69, of Wood Lane, Pine Grove, passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2021 at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem.

Born on September 5, 1951 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Filbert and Vesta Wiest Morgan.

She was a 1969 graduate of Pine Grove Area High School and a 1972 graduate of the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing

Carol was an RN and was head nurse in the operating room at the Lebanon VA Hospital. She also was a nurse at the prison in Mahanoy City.

She loved her grandchildren and attended as many of their events as possible that they were involved in. .

Preceding her in death was her husband of 44 years, John "Tic" Frantz on March 30, 2020.

Surviving are two sons, John Frantz of Pine Grove, Russell and wife Erin Frantz of Schuylkill Haven; five grandchildren, Derek, Morgan, Austin, Brayden, and Christian Frantz; a sister, Sharon, wife of the late Lamar Gehres of Tremont; two nephews, Steve Long of Murphysboro, TN and Mike Long of Hawkinsville, GA.

All Services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Fresh Start Animal Rescue League, P.O. Box 96 Friedensburg, Pa. 17933 in her memory.

Virginia “Jeanie” Hinkle
, formerly of St. Clair, passed away at her home in Silver Springs MD on February 23, 2021.

Jeanie was born in Arnot’s Addition on December 3, 1933, to the late Anthony and Victoria Marcavage.

She graduated from St. Clair High School in 1951then went to Ford Business School in Pottsville before becoming a secretary for her Father’s business, Marcavage Insurance Co. until 1955.

Jeanie married Arnin Hinkle in 1955 and they lived in Germany and Texas until Arnin retired from the US Air Force, and the family moved to Maryland.

Jeanie worked at the NSA in Fort Meade, MD for 29 years; retiring in 1991.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Arnin Hinkle; an infant son William Hinkle; and a granddaughter Tina Harker. She is survived by her 3 children, Ed Hinkle, Eleanora Harker and Marie Quinlan; 5 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; 3 Sisters Lucy Fox; St. Clair; Val Davis; St. Clair; and Rita Postick, Pottsville; Funeral Services will be announced at a later date. Barbara Ann Moyer, 81, of Warner Robins, GA, formerly of Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday, February 28th, at Grady Memorial Hospital, GA

Barbara was born in McKeansburg, PA on February 2, 1940, a daughter of the late June (Decker) and Daniel Stamm.

She was the widow of Bruce E. Moyer. He passed away in 1990.

She was a member of Christ Church McKeansburg and worked locally in Orwigsburg in the textiles industry. Barbara was an avid Blue Mountain Sports fan. She enjoyed watching fast pitch softball and football. She also loved to read.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tina, wife of James Skeen and two sons David Moyer, husband of Debra, and Daniel Moyer, husband of Lynn. Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren Michael, Sharon, Catherine, Bobby & Laura. Great Grandchildren Terrance, Destiny, Carlos, William, Cristian, Destiny & Giavanni. She is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.

She was predeceased by her sons Stephen & Bruce Moyer and her sister Josephine Dallatore, widow of Joseph.

A Religious Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 6th at Hamilton - Breiner Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. in Orwigsburg, with Rev. Sunny L. Stock officiating. Visitation will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 AM. Guests are asked to follow CDC guidelines to stop the spread of COVID-19. Interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Inc. Schuylkill Haven.

Helen J. Wolfgang, age 86, of Frackville, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East in Pottsville. 

Born in Hosensock, she was the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Touchinsky) Slotcavage. She was a 1952 graduate of Frackville High School and had been employed in the local garment factories. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker parish in Frackville and was a volunteer for the Frackville Food Bank. Preceding her in death in addition to her parents were her husband Lorn K. Wolfgang in 2014 as well as several brothers and sisters. 

Survivors include 3 sisters Edna Romanick of Beaver Meadows, Jennie Jeffries and Elizabeth Schaar both of Frackville and a brother Richard Slotcavage and his wife Geraldine of South Carolina as well as nieces and nephews.

Christopher Charles Fetter, 32 years of age of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania died suddenly on Saturday, February 27, 2021, at home.

Born Thursday, December 8, 1988 in Allentown, he was the son of Terry and Denise (Gernert) Fetter with whom he resided, along with his brother Jeffrey Fetter. Christopher is also survived by many; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Tamaqua High School graduate, Christopher attended Schuylkill County Vo-Tech program with an emphasis in Auto Mechanics. He was a certified Inspection Tech, and enjoyed working on cars. Christopher worked at Sky-View Memorial Park in Tamaqua for many years.

Marilyn E. Golod, 87, of Schuylkill Haven, formerly of Pottsville, died peacefully Monday morning at the home of her daughter Elaine with whom she resided with for 11 years.

She was born May 24, 1933 in Scranton a daughter of the late Michael and Mary Sherman Garvey.

She was a 1951 graduate of St. Mary of Assumption High School, Scranton.

She was employed by Bell Telephone prior to retiring after 40 years of service.

Marilyn was a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, the St. John's Women's Guild, and Telephone Pioneers of America.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max E. Golod, 1997; a brother, John Garvey.

Surviving are her daughter, Elaine Grapsy and her husband Mark, Schuylkill Haven; 2 grandchildren whom she enjoyed and loved watching turn into young adults, Jillian Grapsy, Dallas, TX, and Shane Grapsy, Philadelphia; a brother, Ray Garvey, Annapolis, MD; nieces and nephews.

Throughout her life Marilyn had many pets but dearly missed her beloved Mia who died in 2017.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 2PM from St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, with Rev. David J. Loeper as celebrant. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions be made to St. John Memorial Fund, 913 Mahantongo St. Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be private at Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.

Arrangements are under the care of James B. Humphrey, Funeral Director, James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
