Shenandoah Fire Department and American Red Cross to Install Free Smoke Detectors

The Shenandoah Fire Department will be installing free smoke detectors in borough homes later this month.

On Saturday, April 17, 2021, volunteer members of the Shenandoah Fire Department will be installing smoke detectors in borough homes at no cost to the homeowner.

The program is sponsored by the American Red Cross.

Installations will begin at 9:00AM and continue as needed.

In order to receive a free smoke detector, you must be willing to allow a volunteer firefighter from the borough into your home as they are required to do the actual installation. The firefighters will be following CDC guidelines for COVID-19 and will be wearing face masks.

Installations will be completed only for pre-registered residents.

You must register by Noon on Friday, April 16, 2021. Registrations will be accepted online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FT5NFBM or in person at the Shenandoah Borough Hall, 15 West Washington Street, Shenandoah.

Borough Hall is open Monday through Friday between 10:00AM and 2:00PM. Phone registrations will be accepted by calling 570-462-1918. Please use the phone to register as a last resort.
