Fire Destroys Home Thursday Morning in Lavelle

 

A multi-alarm fire destroyed a home in Lavelle on Thursday morning.

Just before 6:30am, emergency personnel were called to the area of 30 High Road in Lavelle for a reported fully engulfed house fire.

As the Lavelle Fire Company left there firehouse, a header of smoke could be seen and a 2nd Alarm was issued calling in additional units.

Ashland's Assistant Chief Charles Orth was first to arrive on scene and found the home at 38 High Road, in a wooded area, fully engulfed with the bulk of the fire in the garage area.

Fire crews from Schuylkill County and Northumberland County fought the fire defensively with the home being a total loss.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
