Firefighters are at the scene of a house fire in Mahanoy Plane
.Just before midnight, emergency personnel were dispatched to 124 Island Road, Mahanoy Plane/Gilberton for a possible house fire.Firefighters arrived on scene to find a garage fire that was extending into the home.
By 12:30am, the fire was marked under control but the home sustained heavy damage.
Firefighters dealt with water issues as well as very little space to work on Island Road with most apparatus responding parking near the main highway.
As of 1:00am, fire crews were still at the scene.
