Nancy A. Wagner, 83 of Pine Grove, passed away May 27, 2021, at Providence Place, Pine Grove. She was born in Pine Grove, September 16, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Paul H. Schneck and Carolyn Emerich Schneck. Also preceding her passing was an infant brother Steven and infant grandson Nicholas Stutzman.

She was graduate of Pine Grove Area High School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a seamstress at local textile facilities.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert I. Wagner. Three daughters, Deb Drumheller, wife of David Drumheller, Hegins; Bonnie Stutzman, wife of Randy Stutzman, Hegins; Bobbi Maier, wife of Terry Maier, Pine Grove. Eight grandchildren, Joseph Drumheller, husband of Stacey Drumheller; Andrew Drumheller, husband of Heather Drumheller; Sarah King, wife of Dan King; Bekee’ McGrath, wife of Ed McGrath, Toby Stutzman, husband of Rose Stutzman; Angie Sekellick, wife of Jason Sekellick; Nikki Studlack, fiancĂ© of Ryan Lettich; Jesse Graver, husband of Janet Graver and 16 great grandchildren.

Nancy treasured and enjoyed life to the fullest. Bob was the love of her life, they valued their time together and always put one another first. She had an amazing bond with her daughters and her entire family, she was so loved and will be forever in our hearts and will be immensely missed everyday. She and Bob traveled the world, taking in extraordinary parts of the world. She especially liked Hawaii, Las Vegas, California, Mexico and all European countries. One of her favorite things to do while traveling was shopping (and sometimes even bartering with local vendors abroad). She was a talented seamstress and always insisted on detailed perfection in designing and creating dresses from choosing the perfect fabrics to sewing on the last button. She also enjoyed assembling numerous craft items for family and friends.

Family and friends may visit on June 4, from 10:00 AM to 11:00AM at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, PA. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Compassus Hospice, 7535 Windsor Drive Suite 100 Allentown, PA 18195.

Frederick J. Hossler, Sr., 67, of Frackville, passed away peacefully Thursday morning in his residence with his family by his side.

Born in Pottsville, on August 4, 1953, he was a son of the late Frederick W. and Geneva (Appolini) Hossler.

He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church, Pottsville.

Fred worked as a maintenance worker at Camp Nockamixon in Bucks County.

He was a member of the American Legion, AmVets, and the St. Clair Fish & Game.. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Fred was an avid Elvis fan and especially loved singing Elvis songs with his granddaughters and attending his grandson's sporting events.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Frederick J. Hossler, Jr., in 2012.

Fred is survived by his wife, Theresa M. (Aucker) Hossler, to whom he was married 45 years; daughter, Heidi Herring, wife of Brian, of Pottsville; daughter-in-law, Lori Hossler, of Northampton.;
grandchildren: Bailey, Tyler, Maecada, Avarey, and Brinley ; great grandson, Levi; sister, Ginny Ulmer, companion of Bill Wampole, of Douglassville; brother, Ralph Hossler, husband of Claire, of Yardley, PA; several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd, at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Father David J. Loeper officiating. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

Marie Reed, age 90 of Pottsville, PA passed away on May 27, 2021 after a lengthy illness. Marie was the loving wife of Allan in which they shared 52 years of marriage. Marie and Allan found each other after they lost both of their spouses due to illness. They were inseparable. 

Marie was born on June 29, 1930 in Heckscherville, PA, a daughter of the late John and Catherine (Delaney) O'Brien. Marie attended Pottsville Catholic High School. After attending high school, Mare attended Beautician's school and became a Beautician. She kept all of her savings and opened her own beauty shop in Minersville. Marie was a great, kind, loving, and funny woman who loved to entertain and be entertained. She was wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, and sister. 

Marie is survived by her husband of 52 years, Allan Reed; her adoring children, Daniel J. Callaghan, Douglasville, Patrick F. Callaghan and his wife Ingrid, Middletown, DE, Debra Donahue and her husband Charles D Jr., Oley, and Denise Webber and her husband Robert, Pottsville; her grandchildren Michael Callaghan and his spouse David, DE, Danielle E. Cushman and her husband Travis, Birdsboro, Stephanie A. Donahue, Oley, and Robert T. Webber Jr, Cumbola; Marie was the proud great grandmother of Grace, Molly, and Madeline Cushman, all of Birdsboro; sisters: Rose Horan, Heckscherville and Catherine Warfield, Roxborough; and a brother Joseph O'Brien, Pottsville. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday June 2, 2021 at 11AM at the St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Saint Clair, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a viewing on Wednesday morning from 10-11AM at the church. 

Marie will be interred at the Schuylkill Memorial Park Cemetery in Schuylkill Haven following her funeral Mass. Marie will be missed by all. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may by made to the St. Clare of Assisi Church at 250 East Hancock St., Saint Clair, PA 17970. The Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home in Port Carbon is in charge of arrangements.

Patricia E. (Piekarsky) Wargo, 81, of Weston Place, Shenandoah, passed away December 1, 2020 at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born on June 12, 1939, she was the beloved daughter of the late Mary (Merchlinsky) Sherkness and the late Walter Piekarsky. Patricia was also deeply loved by her late step-father, Joseph Sherkness.

She was a graduate of the former J.W. Cooper High School, Shenandoah. She worked at former Alma Dress Factory and also as a home health aide. She was a member of Divine Mercy Church formerly St. George’s.

She married the love of her life, the late Michael J. Wargo. They shared many lovingly beautiful decades together before he was taken all too soon almost two decades ago. Patricia loved and was loved by Michael’s family.

Patricia’s children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her beloved son, Joseph M. Curtis sadly preceded her in death. She is survived by her beloved daughter Deborah (Curtis) Vasel and beloved grandchildren Nathan and Laura Vasel who affectionately called her “Grammy”. Patricia is also survived by three brothers-in-law, Monsignor Robert J. Wargo, pastor of the St. Joseph the Worker Church, Steve Wargo, Mahanoy City, Richard Wargo, Shenandoah; three sisters-in-law Jean Phillips, Nipomo, CA, Anna Kawa, Williamsport, and Julie Dee, Yonkers, NY, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was compassionate and caring. Neighbors would seek her out for care of animals. She intuitively knew what was needed. Patricia was always there for her family. She made herself available to help with care of loved ones and also the needs of neighbors and friends.

Often said about her was that she never had a bad thing to say about anyone. She also didn’t allow unkind things to be said about others in her presence.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating her life will be held June 26, 2021 at 10:00 am in Divine Mercy Church, 232 West Cherry Street, Shenandoah with Monsignor Robert J. Wargo as the celebrant. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, June 26, 2021 at the church from 9:00 am until 10:00 am. All state and federal COVID-19 guidelines and regulations, if any required at the time, will be observed. Interment in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery will follow the mass.

Francis J. Lavin Jr., 84, of Minersville, passed away Thursday morning at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg.
