Tamaqua Area Senior Chosen to Participate in All-Eastern Honors Choral Festival

The Tamaqua Senior High School Vocal Music Department has announced that David Hull, a senior, was selected to participate in the 2021 All-Eastern Honors Choral festival.

David is the first ever Tamaqua High School student selected for this prestigious honor.

The festival is sponsored by the National Association for Music Education. (NAfME) Students from all over the eastern region of the United States are chosen by audition to participate in this event every two years.

Students from Pennsylvania are only eligible to audition for this event if they have previously been selected to the Pennsylvania All-State Chorus Festival.

Usually a three day event hosted by NAfME, this year’s event and conference had to be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students prepared several pieces of music on their own, attended virtual rehearsals, and then participated in a virtual concert that premiered on the internet on Friday, April 23, 2021.

The concert can be viewed free of charge on the NAfME Youtube Channel for one year.

David Hull is the son of James Hull of Frackville and Randa Ray of Tamaqua.
