Nearly $1,000 in Groceries Stolen from Weis Markets near Pottsville

The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating multiple incidents of retail theft that totaled nearly $1,000 at Weis Markets near Pottsville.

According to troopers, over several days, between May 5th, 2021 and May 18th, 2021, a 56-year-old woman from Port Carbon allegedly stole $759.79 in groceries from the store in Norwegian Township.

The woman was identified by the vehicle she was driving, a 2011 Chevrolet.

Charges are currently pending.

A second incident is also being investigated where between May 10th, 2021 and May 20th, 2021, $231.81 in groceries were stolen from the store.

A suspect has not been identified but they are reported to drive a 2009 Hyundai Elantra.

The investigation for the second set of thefts is ongoing.
