James A. Thye, 53 , of Schuylkill Haven, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning in Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East, Pottsville.

Born in San Diego, CA on September 2, 1967, he was the son of the late David W. and Susan J. (Branca ) Thye, Schuylkill Haven.

James graduated with a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

He was a member of St. Patrick R.C.C.

James was an avid chess player and reader.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Thye, on April 19, 2020.

In addition to his mother, James is survived by sisters: Carolyn M. Thye, of Ossining, NY and Sister Mary Raymond, of Nashville, TN.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 24th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick R.C.C., 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Father Edward Connolly officiating.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Pottsville.

PFC Harvey J. Klamt, SN, 93, of Canal Dr., Pine Grove, passed away on Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Rosewood Rehab and Nursing Center.

Born on October 22, 1927 in Cincinnati, OH, he was a son of the late Harry F. and Ethel May Parker Klamt.

He was a proud WWII Marine Corp Veteran serving in China with an engineering company from spring of 1945 through the end of the war. He earned the Victory Medal, Honorable Service Lapel Button, Marine Corps Discharge Button, and Good Conduct Medal. He always talked about the Corp and was proud to have served his country. It shaped him into who he became and never forgot his roots. Semper Fi!

Harvey was a member of the United States Power Squadron. He was Past Commander of the Delaware River Sail and Power Squadron Division and eventually earned the advanced education grade of Senior Navigator (SN) when he was at the Susquehanna Power Squadron. He served several positions but was most proud of his last job where he served as the Susquehanna Power Squadron's Education Officer where he helped numerous members (with the help of his wife) reach the education advanced grade of junior navigator, navigator, and senior navigator. He also received special recognition as a Life member for more than 50 years of active service in the power squadron and earned 51 service merit marks. He attained the highest civilian Navigation Award, the Prince Henry Award, which he was very proud of.

He worked for the defense industry (defense contractor) specializing in work on military helicopters as a mechanic, transmission, and lead helicopter drive shaft inspector. He worked at several aerospace companies, including Piasecki Aircraft Corporation, Sikorsky Aircraft, and eventually retiring from Boeing in the late 1990's.

He obtained his Associates Degree at Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia.

Preceding him in death was his wife Julia S. Slater Klamt, N in 2003 and his significant other Doris Duda in 2016.

Surviving are two daughters, Mary Ellen Hodgson of Quarryville and Eileen Marie Labowski of Zionsville; 6 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Noon at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Father Paul Rothermel officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, July 1, 2021 from 10:30 A.M. until Noon at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Assoc. Inc. 2595 Interstate Dr. Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17110, in his memory.

Florence “Flo” Jones
, 93, formerly of, Mill Creek, passed away Saturday June 19, 2021, at Aspen Valley Senior Living, Boise, Idaho.

Born in Palo Alto, December 11, 1926, she was a daughter of the late William and Loretta (Delaney) Leiby.

Flo was a 1944 graduate from St. Clair High School, she retired as a Teller at the Former Meridian Bank, Pottsville.

She was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Roman Catholic Church, St. Clair, Pottsville Women’s Bowling Association, the Schuylkill Racquetball Club and the Allen-Rogowicz Chapter Hall of Fame as the first husband and wife inductees.

She was preceded in death by her husband Emlyn Jones, a son Robert Jones, 3 sisters Alice Hope, Helen Owens, Alma Fogarty, 2 brothers William and Robert Leiby.

Surviving are son David Jones and his wife Valerie of Boise, ID, 3 grandsons, Kyle and wife Dani, Brandon and wife Elsa ,Brett Jones.1 step grandson Jeramie Dresslar and wife Kim and 1 step granddaughter Amber Dresslar and 7 great grandchildren

Funeral Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA.

Ronald F. Farrell, Sr., 85 of Walker Township Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly upon arrival on Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.

Born Thursday, August 22, 1935 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the son of the late Francis, and Margaret (Bergalis) Farrell. Ron was also predeceased by; his beloved wife of 66 years, Violet L. (Drieisbach) Farrell on June 13, 2020; sister, Beverly Banks.

Surviving are son, Ronald F. Farrell, Jr. and his wife Roxanne of Tamaqua; daughter, Diane M. Canfield of Vancouver, WA; grandchildren, Timothy, Natalie, Leslie, Zack; great grandchildren, Salvatore, Hailey, Jack, Elyse, Kyle, Wyatt, and Isaiah.

A graduate of Tamaqua High School, Ron served honorably in the National Guard. He was a drag line operator having worked for numerous mining operation throughout Schuylkill County. Ron enjoyed tending to his home, and spending time with family.
