Michael A. Ciccanti, Jr.
, 44, of Pottsville, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, at Lehigh Valley Health Network Muhlenberg, Bethlehem, surrounded by his family.

Born in Pottsville, on November 19, 1976, he was a son of Michael A. and Mary Ann (Swoyer) Ciccanti, Sr., of Pottsville and the late Donna (Motto) Kunstek.

He was graduate of Pottsville High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville.

Mike worked in the street department for the City of Pottsville for over 19 years.

He was passionate about motorcycles and enjoyed racing them and was an avid Eagles fan.

Mike is survived by his wife, Leslie (Himmelberger) Ciccanti; two daughters, Rayven Ciccanti, of Saint Clair; Amanda Cannon, of Pottsville; and a son, Michael Ciccanti III, of Saint Clair; grandchildren: Isabella and Addy; four sisters: Krista Dullard, wife of Jimmy, of Minersville; Shannon Marteusz, wife of Jill, of Minersville; Angela Swoyer, companion of Joe Hrichak, of Pottsville; Alissa Lash, companion of John Herdon, of Pottsville; several nieces and nephews; and Aunt Terri Salle.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 31st at 11:00 a.m. at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Pastor Chris Rothharpt officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service in the funeral home.

Interment will follow in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.

Francis A. “Frank” Sherman, 62, of Newmanstown, Pa, passed away on Monday, August 23rd at the Hershey Medical Center.

Born in Shenandoah, Pa on October 4th, 1958 he was the son of the late John Sherman and his surviving mother, Helen "Nellie" (Mollett) Sherman of Shenandoah.

Frank was a 1976 graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. He was employed by the federal government, and he will be remembered as a very loving father, husband, and son.

Besides his father, Frank was preceded by 1 brother, Tony Sherman.

He leaves behind his wife, Stephanie (Bryan) Sherman, 1 son, Christopher Sherman at home, 1 daughter, Maria Griswold with her husband William – Elizabethtown, 1 brother, Jay Sherman – Hanover, and nieces and nephews.

A scripture service will be held on Monday August 30th, 2021 at 10 AM from the Oravitz Home for Funerals, Inc. 40 N. Jardin St. Shenandoah, Pa and will be officiated by Msgr. Ronald Bocian.
