High Winds, Hail, and Heavy Rain Possible with Wednesday Afternoon Storms

There is the potential for strong storms late Wednesday afternoon in Schuylkill County.

On Wednesday afternoon the National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook that stated the following:

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds 60 mph or greater, large hail exceeding 1 inch in diameter, and locally heavy rain of over one inch in less than one hour is possible this afternoon and evening. An isolated weak and short-lived tornado is also possible.

Schuylkill County was included in this alert but not included in a Flash Flood Watch that was issued for counties just to the west like Berks, Carbon and Lehigh.  That doesn't mean Schuylkill would not see any bad weather.

A line of storms is expected to develop Wednesday afternoon and cross Schuylkill county between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.

These storms shouldn't necessarily change your plans but you'll want to keep an eye on the sky.
