Richard E. “Dimmer" Leymeister
of Pottsville entered into eternal rest at his residence, Tuesday morning October 12, 2021.

Born on October 31, 1935 in the village of Mary D, he was the son of the late Clarence and Clara Leymeister.

After graduating from the former Orwigsburg High School, he enlisted in the US Army and served in Korea and then later joined the Reserves.

He was active in many organizations which include West End Hose Co., Pottsville, Mary D Fire Co., Strausstown Rod and Gun Club, Friedensburg American Legion, Union County West end Fire Co. Glenn Iron, Pa., AMVETS Pottsville Post 108, Pine Grove VFW, Goodwill Hose Comp., Cressona and the American Legion, Fredricksburg.

Dimmer as he was affectionately known, worked as an electrician and also was employed by the Hetran Company. While employed by Hetran, he made the electrical wiring for various types of machines.

In addition to his parents he was preceded by his wife Lois A. (Weigand) Leymeister on May 2, 2002 and two brothers Clarence and Lester. Surviving are daughters Debra Hewes, Pottsville; Linda Leymeister, Denton, Texas and Diane Featherstone, Pottsville. He is also survived by his grandchildren AJ, Josh and Jake Hewes and Kate Featherstone; Great-Grandchildren Ryan, Gina, Jeremy, Jarrod, Venna, Laney and Leo; Sister Phyllis Barber and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday October 20, 2021 at noon at The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home. Family and Friends may call from 10 o’clock to the time of service. Internment with Military Honors will be held on the grounds of Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

The family would prefer donations to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and donations can be made by visiting their website StJude.org.

Ellen J. McLaren
, age 90, formerly of Frackville, died Tuesday at Shenandoah Senior Living Community. 

Born in Frackville she was the daughter of the late Dartnell C. "Mickey" and Helen (Kershner) McLaren. She was a graduate of Frackville High School and received her BA degree from Greenville College. She was an elementary school teacher and worked at Palmer Township Elementary School in Easton and had resided in Macungie and Easton. She was a member of the Faith Evangelical Free Church in Allentown and a charter member of the former Pilgrim Holiness Church in Frackville. She enjoyed reading, traveling and watching TV. Her philanthropic generosity supported various missionaries over many years. 

Preceding her in death were here brothers H. James McLaren Sr., Charles McLaren and a sister Ann Hall. 

Survivors include her nieces and nephews H. James McLaren Jr. and his wife Linda of Mahanoy City, Kim Schaude and her husband Jim of Lehighton, Elaine Fucci and her husband Paul of Gordon and Daniel Mc Laren and his wife Colleen of Willow Grove, a sister in law Barbara McLaren of Levittown and great nieces and nephews. 

Relatives and friends are invited to graveside services on Monday morning at 11 AM to be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Frackville. The Rev. Fred T. Crawford will officiate. Contributions in her name to Samaritan's Purse/Donor Ministries, PO Box 300, Boone NC 28607 would be appreciated by the family. David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City is in charge of arrangements.

Christopher P. "Chris" Tragus
, age 49, of Shenandoah, passed away Friday at his home. 

Born in Ashland he was the son of James Tragus of Shenandoah and the late Charlotte Tragus. He was a graduate of Shenandaoh Valley High School and was employed as a manager at Boyer's Food Market in Shenandoah. 

He was preceded in death by a brother James and a sister Gina Tragus. 

Survivors include his wife the former Lori Longenberger and one niece. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a religious service to be held on Tuesday morning at 11 AM form David D. Jarrett Funeral Home of Mahanoy City. Pastor Joshua Hughes will officiate. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday morning beginning at 9:30 AM.

Stanley J. Pogash
, 97, Ashland, PA passed away Tuesday morning, October 12, 2021 at Broad Mountain Manor, Frackville.

Born in Bucks Patch, May 11, 1924, he was the son of the late Albert and Vericona (. ) Pogash. He is the last member of the Pogash family. He was a 61 year member of the Washington Fire Co., and a member of the Ashland Fire Police, Washington Fire Co. Community Ambulance, American Legion, Elks, and Electrical Union IBEW. He was a World War II Veteran. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and devoted his life to his family.

Stanley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean, who passed away August 2, 2020 and by his sisters: Helen Kane, Stella Britch, Marg Kane, Theresa Pogash and by his brothers: Frank Pogash, Stephen Pogash, Thomas Pogash, and John Pogash. 

Surviving are his two daughters, Jean-Louise, wife of Thomas Hepler, Ashland; and Dianne, wife of James Mensch, Ashland. 3 grandchildren: Brian Hepler, Stacey Grass, and Stefanie Ott. 5 great-grandchildren : Madeline, Amelia, Liliana, Zachary, and Carly. Nieces and nephews.

Services will be at the convenience of the family with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, Rev. Brian Miller officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Memorial contributions can be made to the Washington Fire Co. 1307 Center St., Ashland,PA.

Melanie F. George, 72, of Sheppton, passed away on Sunday, October 10th, 2021 at the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest in Allentown

Born in Maizeville on September 20th, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Susan (Onusconich) Urban.

Melanie was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School and then went on to the Ashland School of Nursing. She became a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). She worked in the field for many years and was a member of the CRNA Association.

Melanie is survived by her husband of 48 years, William George and their daughter, Dr. Susan Marie George of Blue Bell, Pa.

Burial will take place on Friday, October 22nd , 2021 at 10:30am in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery - Annville, Pa. For those planning on traveling to the service at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, a procession will depart from the funeral home promptly at 9am.

Virginia Ann Knorr, 74, of Mar Lin, passed away Monday, October 11th, at her home. 

Virginia was born in Pottsville, on December 14, 1946, a daughter of the late Anna (Sininsky) and John Tubosnick. 

She was preceded in death by brothers, Alan, Robert & John Tubosnick. Virginia is survived by a son, Clifford M, husband of Kelly Knorr as well as her estranged husband, Irvin H. Knorr. 

A Visitation will be held 9:00 to 10:30 AM on Friday, at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc. in Minersville. 

A Religious Service will be held at 10:30 AM with the Reverend Jason F. Stokes officiating. 

Interment at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Minersville. Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville entrusted with the arrangements.

Agnes Jaglas, 99, of Pottsville, formerly of Hummelstown, Pa. passed away Tuesday, October 12th, at Genesis Eldercare Schuylkill Center, Pottsville. 

Agnes was born in Minersville, on February 20, 1922, a daughter of the late Margaret (Kaleda) and William Parulis. She was the widow of Daniel Jaglas. She was a graduate of Minersville High School. She was a former member of St. Joan of Arc Roman Catholic Church, Hummelstown. Before devoting her life as a homemaker she was employed at Olmstead Air Force Base. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan, her daughter, Cindy, a sister, Madeline Barber, a brother, William Parulis and a great nephew, Scott Bedford. Agnes is survived by nieces, Sandra, wife of Robert Arner, Gail, wife of Gary Bedford, and Lynn Barber. Nephews, Thomas, husband of KayAnne Barber and William, husband of Joanne Parulis. She is also survived by Great nieces; Stacy Kelly, Kristi Adams, Melissa McNulty, Ashley Barber, Kristin Watkins, Olivia Parulis, great nephews; James Croley, Christian Barber, and Matthew Parulis. (9 great great nephews, 7 great great nieces. 

All are respectfully invited to attend a visitation, Saturday, with calling hours 8:30 to 10:00 am at the Mahal-Ritzel Funeral Home Inc., Minersville. A Christian funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 am with the Reverend Jason F. Stokes officiating. Interment Hummelstown Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hummelstown Cemetery Association 186 S. Railroad St. Hummlestown , PA 17036.
