Police Investigating Reports of Suspicious Vehicle on the Burma Road

Local and State Police are investigating several reports of a suspicious vehicle on the Burma Road this past weekend.

According to Mahanoy Township Police Chief Brandon Alexander, the first incident was reported on Friday when a man in a red/maroon Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck followed a couple in the Morea/New Boston area.

The vehicle then fled the area before police arrived.

Throughout the weekend, more reports were received of a truck matching the same description on the Burma Road tailgating female drivers, driving aggressively, attempting to run them off the road, or driving in the opposing lane next to the vehicle.

Chief Alexander says Township and State Police have spent numerous hours over the past several days in the area looking for the vehicle and driver.

Anyone who may have information or may have experienced similar incidents is asked to contact the Mahanoy Township Police at (570) 773-1239 or call 911.
