Arthur "Sonny" J. Moraco, Jr.
, 91, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening at Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Pottsville, on June 26, 1930, he was a son of the late Arthur J. and Sarah (Neidlinger) Moraco, Sr.

He was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, and the former St. Joseph Church. Sonny was very devoted to his faith and always attended Saturday Mass.

He was a 1949 graduate of Pottsville High School.

Sonny proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Marine Corps League. He was a proud and dedicated Marine to the end.

He worked in construction throughout his life.

In addition to his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by his brother, Richard D.

He is survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as his godson Jamie Kopintetz of Hummelstown. In addition, there is Alice Brennan of Pottsville, a close friend, and his buddy, Rick Huber of Pottsville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 24th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 319 Mahantongo St., Pottsville, with Rev. Philip Rodgers officiating. A viewing will be held at Lord-Bixler Funeral Home, Inc., 1818 Mahantongo St., Pottsville from 10:00 a.m. until the procession will leave for church .

Interment with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hillside.

Angeline L. DeStefano
, age 96, of Palo Alto, PA passed away Friday, November 19th, 2021 at Green Valley Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Pottsville.

Born in Palo Alto, PA on January 9, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Madeline (Valeria) Maccarone.

Angie worked as a seamstress for Phillips & Jones Co. in Pottsville for 3 years and then for the Pottsville Box Factory for a short time. She was a member of he former St. Joseph's Church in Pottsville and a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church in Pottsville.

in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Nicholas M DeStefano on April 14, 2007and 2 brothers, Rocco J and Dominic Maccarone.

Angie is survived by a brother Nicholas Maccarone, Palo Alto and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville, PA. at 11AM on Tuesday, November 23rd, with Rev. Phillip Rodgers officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Tuesday morning from 9-11AM at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.

Interment will be held in the St. Joseph Cemetery Pottsville, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's Church Memorial Fund 319 Mahantongo Street Pottsville, PA 17901.

John M. "Jake" Lubish, age 65, of St. Clair passed away November 19th, 2021 at home.

Born July 27, 1956, he was the son of the late John and Joyce (Fritchman) Lubish. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles Hawkins, a sister Lisa Lubish, a nephew Brad Wilkinson, and a brother-in-law and his best bud, William Hahn.

Jake is survived by his son Jared; two grandsons, Nicholas and Emmet; Sisters Susan Hahn, who was his caregiver, and Barb Wilkinson; nieces Brenda Thorn and Karen Geiger; nephews Billy and Bobby Hahn; an aunt Theresa Brilla and her husband Joe; and many cousins and friends.

Robert S. Whitecavage
, 67 of Mahanoy City, Pennsylvania died on Thursday, November 18, 2021, while in the loving care of his family.

Born Sunday, November 29, 1953 in Locust Mountain, he was the son of the late Stephen and Mary (Durko) Whitcavage. Robert was also predeceased by; brother, David Whitecavage; sisters Pauline Kondisko, Marie Hoffner.

Robert was a graduate of Mahanoy Area High School Class of 1971 and earned a computer certification from Lincoln Technical Institute. He was most recently employed as an electrician at Fabcon. Robert was a Nascar enthusiast and cheered on his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt. He was also a football fan, rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Robert was a member of St. John the Baptist PNCC, Frackville.

Surviving are his beloved wife of 42 years, Deborah (Jablonski) Whitecavage; daughters, Kristin M. Whitecavage and her companion, Daniel Pelchick of Shenandoah, , Kellie A. Solnoki and her husband, William of Barnesville, Tammie J. Fannock and her husband, Ryan of Mahanoy City; 6 grandchildren Meah, Aliyah, Karter, Dylan, Calli, Tyson; nephews, Robert, and Michael Hoffner; nieces, Amber, and Danielle Whitecavage.

A Celebration of Roberts Life will be held on Monday evening November 29, 2021 at 7 o'clock P.M. from the funeral home. Friends may call from 6:00 P.M. until time of remembrance.
