Charles J. McGovern, 74, of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at home.

Born on November 11, 1947 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Charles and Caroline Karman McGovern.

Charles was a Truck Driver.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 47 years, Jeanne Zimmerman McGovern; a son, Edward McGovern; and a brother, William McGovern.

Surviving are a brother, Jack McGovern of Newtown; nieces, nephews and cousins.

All Services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

Roland Leonard Miller, 89, E. Mill St., Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021 at The Gardens at York Terrace, Pottsville.

Born on October 15, 1932 in Donaldson, he was a son of the late Russell and Mirium Leonard Miller.

He graduated from Frailey Township in 1949, Tremont High School in 1950 and the Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in 1953.

Roland served in the US Army from 1953-1955 in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, with the Bridge Co. 51st Engr BN, 6th Armd Div.

Roland was a Carpenter by trade and worked for CH Klinger in Pine Grove and E.R. Steubner in Reading. His craftsmanship can be found all over Pine Grove.

He was a life member of the H. H. & L. Fire Co. #1 in Pine Grove.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Dorothy Bretzius Miller; a daughter, Jane Hammond; and a brother, Russell Miller.

Surviving are a daughter, Barbara and husband Rodney Luckenbill of Pine Grove; a son, Roland Miller, II of Pottsville; four granddaughters, Judy Anderson, Sarah Coy, Janice Balulis, and Emily Luckenbill; and 6 great grandchildren.

All Services will be held at the convenience of the family at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to Salem United Church of Christ, c/o Lisa Smith, 120 Spring St., Tremont, Pa. 17981.

Catherine Hoffman
, 93, Frackville, passed away peacefully Tuesday at Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest with her family by her side.

Born in Frackville, she was a daughter of the late Alex and Mary Stoppi Kuzio. She had been employed as a seamstress in the local garment industry.

She was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville.

She was preceded in death by her husband William T. Hoffman,1990, her son Thomas J. Hoffman, 1994 and her siblings; Mary Sich, Ann Maliniak, Stephen Kuzio and Julia Dougert.

Catherine is survived by two sons; David and his wife Tina Hoffman, Pine Grove and William Hoffman, Frackville, her daughter Susan wife of Paul Reznikov, Manlius, NY, her grandchildren; Chloe, Mark and William Reznikov and Matthew and Carly Hoffman, her niece Elaine Maliniak and nephew Stephen Kuzio.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Church, Frackville, with Rev. Petro Zvarych, pastor, as the celebrant. Friends may call at the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville, on Monday from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. with Panikhida service at 10:15. Interment will be in the parish cemetery, Englewood, Frackville.

Irene C. (Klementowicz) Bader
, 88, a lifelong resident of Frackville, passed away peacefully Monday, November 22, 2021.

Irene was born on August 16, 1933, in Frackville, to violet (Brusiewski) and Charles Klementowicz. She was a member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville.

Irene marrie Michael “Peanuts” Bader on July 28, 1951 and were lifelong companions. They were blessed with two daughters, Ann Marie and Christine.

Irene was an active member of her community and was known by her family and friends for her tireless energy. She was an avid traveler and an involved member of the Frackville Senior Citizens and the Sacred Heart Society. At St. Michael’s Church, Irene served faithfully on the Pyrohy making committee.

Irene was employed as a waitress at Nuck’s Luncheonette and Leisl’s Steakhouse and then later worked as a seamstress in the garment industry in Frackville and Shenandoah.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Michael; infant daughter Michele; brothers, Victor, Albert, Stanley, Henry and Ted Klementowicz; sisters; Catherine Miele, Wanda Awad and Sophy Boyer

Irene is survived by her children, Ann Marie Breslosky and husband Bill; Christine Steiff and husband Bob; four grandchildren; Tara Cooper husband Ted; Teri Fekula, husband JD; Gwen Spencer, husband Ben and Bob Steiff, wife Jen; ten great-grandchildren and a great-great grand-daughter; she is also survived by a brother Charles Klementovich, Jr., Georgia and many nieces and nephews.

Irene will be remembered for her deep faith in God, love of family and friends and her joy in sharing time together. Iren’s energy along with her generous spirit and infectious personality brought everyone together. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking donations to be made to the Frackville food Pantry, 7 s. broad Mountain Ae., Frackville, PA 17931

Irene has been a resident of Schuylkill Center for the past 11 years. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff for their utmost care and compassion during her residency and for becoming extended family to her.

Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m.in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, Frackville, with Rev. Petro Zyvarch as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 9 to 10:00 a.m. with Panaheda at 9:30 a.m., at the Albert L. Gricoski Funeral Home, Frackville. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Englewood, Frackville.
