Leo F. Schramm, Jr., 91, of Pottsville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 4th, at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East Norwegian Street, Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, on February 19, 1930, he was a son of the late Leo F. and Theresa M. (Wehninger) Schramm, Sr.

He was a graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School and a former officer at the Yorkville Hose Company.

Leo worked at Ost & Ost for 35 years, retiring in 1989.

In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Marie (Brennan) in June 2008, and to whom he was married 60 years; and brothers: Francis and Robert.

Leo is survived by a daughter, Susan, wife of Bruce Dautrich, of Manassas, VA; a son, Michael, of Saco, Maine; and 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Services are private at the convenience of the family.

Interment at St. John's Cemetery #2, Pottsville, will be private.

Marian R. Mumma
, 92, of Pottsville, formerly of Farm View Rd., Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Saturday, November 6, 2021 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Sch. East., Pottsville.

Born on January 24, 1929 in Stevens, she was a daughter of the late Norman and Florence Zuck Wenger.

She was a member of the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.

Marian was a seamstress at the Peek-a-Boo blouse factory in Schuylkill Haven and was a cafeteria worker. She was a member of the ILGWU. She was a good baker, enjoyed canning, jarring, crocheting, quilting, and gardening and was a good Christian wife and mother.

Preceding her in death were two brothers, Claude Wenger and Glenn Wenger; and a sister, Lois Romberger.

Surviving are her husband of 73 years, David Mumma; three daughters, Gloria, wife of the late John Roger Stewart, of Osceola Mills, Ruth Ann, wife of the late Tony Donofrio Jr., of Schuylkill Haven and Nancy, wife of Randy Schriver of Palmyra; a brother Jay, husband of the late Maureen Mumma of Bethel; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild on the way; a brother, Leon Wenger of Ephrata.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Mike Barnhart officiating. There will be a viewing on Saturday, November 13, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Pine Grove.

William John McGovern, 72, of Tremont, passed away on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Schuylkill East.

Born on January 8, 1949 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Charles and Caroline Karman McGovern.

He was an Army Veteran having served during the Vietnam Era.

William worked for Bob Morgan Construction in Jonestown.

He was a member of the Little Run Gun Club, Tremont and a life member of the American Legion and VFW.

Surviving are his companion of 25 years, Wanda Frew; two daughters, Lisa Rizzi of Llewelyn, Amy McGovern of Pine Grove; grandchildren, great grandchildren; two brothers, Charles McGovern and Jack McGovern, both of Newtown.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Rev. Krista Roehrig officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Wounded Warriors, Inc, 1117 Country Club Rd., Camp Hill, Pa. 17011 in his memory.

Frank William Wagner, II
, 61, of Schuylkill Haven passed away Sunday, November 7th, at St. Luke's Hospital & Health Network, Bethlehem.

Frank was born in Pottsville on May 26, 1960, a son of the late Marion (Frable) and John Arthur Wagner.

He was the husband of Jayne (Boyer) Wagner. They were married May 8, 1993.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Schuylkill Haven and a 1978 graduate of Blue Mountain High School. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an auto mechanic during his lifetime as well as working at Sappa & Cardinal Systems.

Frank loved NASCAR and camping as well as fire fighting. He was a member of the #2 Schuylkill Fire Co. & Rainbow Hose Co. as well as the American Legion.

Frank is survived by two daughters, Tara and Tiffany Engle, a son, Bryan, husband of Jamie Engle, grandchildren Austin, Layne, Jayda, Aubrey, Kloee, Mackenzie, Maddison, Conner, Wyatt, and Shane, two great grandchildren Rowyn and Ryder. He is survived by two brothers, George Wagner, husband of Debra and J. Arthur Wagner, husband of Maria, well as nieces, nephews, cousins and his dog Dozzer. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Schuylkill Haven American Legion Post 38, 229 Parkway, Schuylkill Haven, and PA 17972. A celebration of Life Service, for Frank, will soon be announced.

Roman Clyde Nunez, precious baby boy to parents Tori Papanek and Mario Nunez, died peacefully in his mother and father’s arms on November 6, 2021 a few short hours after his birth. 

Roman is deeply loved by his mother and father, big sister Keanna and big brother Troy, his great-grandparents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, cousins, and many others. 

Since first learning of him, his family eagerly awaited his arrival and made sure every day that he knew how much we love him. 

A beautiful baby boy who touched many lives in such a brief time, Roman gave us a lifetime of love during his very short time on earth. Our little angel will never be forgotten and will be greatly missed.

George C. Kupetz
, 64 years of age of Summer Valley Road New Ringgold, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2021, at St. Luke's Orwigsburg Campus.

Born Wednesday, May 8, 1957 in Pottsville, Pennsylvania the son of George J., and Mae (Ketchledge) Kupetz.

A 1975 graduate of Blue Mountain High School, George earned a certification in H.V.A.C. after graduation. George retired from Air Products & Chemicals after over 20 years, and prior to that, he had operated his family's saw mill in Hecla. An avid Trap Shooter, George started shooting at a very young age with his Father and his trusty Charles Daly Shotgun, "Rosie". He was very active in the trap shooting community, with memberships at multiple gun clubs across PA. George enjoyed camping with his family and friends, working on his two corvettes, and tinkering in the garage.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved dog, Peggy.

Surviving are; his wife of 19 years, Geraldine "Geri" (Makowski) Kupetz; daughters, Jacqueline A. Kupetz and her wife Elizabeth of Coraopolis, PA , Janelle L. Kupetz of New Ringgold; Step son, Brandon Seitzinger and his wife Gale of Poteau, OK; grandchildren, Damien, Dalton, Ivan, and Lacynda Seitzinger.

Grace E. Possessky, 76, of Ringtown, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, November 7th, 2021.

Grace was born in Shenandoah, on August 8, 1945, a daughter of the late Laura (Morell) and Albert Lorah.

A lifelong homemaker, she was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Brandonville.

Grace was an avid bingo player and enjoyed trips to and winning at the area casino's.

She was preceded in death by a brother, William Lorah, Sr., and by a sister Carol Geleski.

Grace is survive by two sons, John Possessky, and his wife Karen; and James Possessky, and his wife Tonya, all of Ringtown, and by a sister, Linda Lorah and a brother, Ronald Lorah, both of Ringtown.

She is also survived by 4 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Jennafer, Carlie, Jacalyn and Jacob.

In accordance with Grace's wishes, services for her immediate family will be held privately.

The Stauffer-Breznik Funeral Home is assisting Grace's family during this time of need.

Catherine Brilla
, 95, of West West Terrace, passed away peacefully Saturday morning surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg.

Born in Duncott, she was a daughter of the late William and Verna Shepler Jefferson.

She was educated in the Minersville schools. Catherine was a homemaker who enjoyed taking care of her family. She was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, Minersville and a member of St. Matthew’s Church of Holy Family Parish, Minersville.

She was preceded in death by her husband Stanley;, a son-in-law Todd Evans; a sister Jean Kuehn and 7 brothers, Harold, Robert, LeRoy, Oliver, Harry, Charles and Carl Jefferson.

Catherine is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Beth Reta and her husband Tom, New Jersey and Michelle Evans, Minersville; a sister Mae Andrews, Pottsville; 7 grandchildren, Lucas Dellamonica, Taryn Ney, Sasha Alvarada and her husband Tony, Kyana Picciotti and her fiancé TJ Kracsun, Logan Picciotti and his fiance Bailey Malik, Kaitlyn Walker and her husband Jacob and Teisha Kull; 6 great grandchildren, Ryan, Jayden, Jasper, Talulah, Brayden, and Aubrey; nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Matthew the Evangelist Church, 139 Spruce St., Minersville at 11 AM Thursday morning. Rev. Leo J. Maletz will officiate. Relatives and friends may call at the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville on Thursday morning from 7AM to 10:30 AM. Interment will be in Mt. Peace Cemetery, Minersville.

Paul Leon Wetzel
, 70, of Mowry, passed away, surrounded by his family, at his residence November 5, 2021. Born in Danville, October 5, 1951, he was the son of the late Leon A. and Alvena Leach Wetzel. He was a graduate of the North Schuylkill High School, class of 1969, and had been employed for thirty years as a Computer Service Technician for the Pottsville Republican newspaper, later working as a Heavy Equipment Operator for the former White Pine Coal Company, of Lavelle, until his retirement. Paul was a member of St. John’s “Kimmels” United Church of Christ, Deep Creek Road, Ashland. Active in Free Masonry, he was a member of Ashland Lodge #294 F. and A. M., serving as Master in 1979, he also belonged to Griscom R.A. Chapter #219, and Prince of Peace Commandery #39, all of Ashland. Preceding him in death was his wife of 45 years, Barbara Anne Wetzel, passing in February 2021.
