Service Electric Outage Continues Early Saturday in Northern Schuylkill County

A downed tree left thousands of cable customers without service late Friday/Early Saturday in Schuylkill County.

Late Friday afternoon, many residents who use Service Electric for their TV cable, internet, and phone in Shenandoah, Ringtown and Zion Grove areas saw their service disconnected.  Many thought it was an issue with their own service and called the company's customer service, only to learn that it was a known issue.

Later Friday, Service Electric Cable Vision gave an official statement.
We are currently experiencing an outage in the Shenandoah, Ringtown and Zion Grove area due to fallen trees from high winds. SECV will be permitted to begin our repairs as soon as the utility companies have completed theirs. At that time our technicians will work as quickly as possible to get your services restored. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.
The downed tree occurred between Shenandoah and Ringtown on Friday afternoon.

As of 10:30am, Saturday service to some of these area has not been restored.

Shenandoah Ambulance also warned that those living within the affected areas, will experience issues calling 911.
