Clare B. Johnson, age 94, of Pottsville, PA passed away Thursday, December 9th, 2021 at her home.

Born in Mill Creek, PA on August 12, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Shaeffer) Ritzel.

Clare was a graduate of St. Stephen's High School in Port Carbon and also the Fitzgerald Mercy School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked as a Registered Nurse for the Pottsville Hospital and Warne Clinic until retiring and was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Port Carbon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years John W. Johnson, two sons: John Gary Johnson and Brian David Johnson, and a sister Jean Brownmiller.

Clare is survived by son William Johnson and his wife Ruth, Pottsville; daughter Jacqueline Howell and her husband Charles, Indiana; eight grandchildren: Kenny, Missy, Nikki, Michael, Kristen, Neil, Kyle, and Johnny; and nine great- grandchildren.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 11AM on Monday, December 13th, with Msgr. William Glosser officiating.

Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Monday morning from 9-11AM at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the St. Stephen Cemetery in Port Carbon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Gary Wayne Miller
, 70, Veteran, Husband, Father, Pappy of Andreas Road, Andreas, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, December 10, 2021, at St. Luke's University Hospital in Bethlehem.

Born Tuesday, October 16, 1951 in Lehighton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Calvin O. Miller and Rachel L. (Sheckler) Miller. Gary was also preceded in death by sister, Donna M. Barron.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Alice (Yacobenas) Miller; daughters, Ann Marie Polinger and her partner Andrew M. Fritz of Whitehouse Station, NJ and Lisa A. Miller and her partner Morgan Fuller of Mountain Top, PA; granddaughter, Madalyn Polinger; nieces and nephews.

A 1969 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Gary served in the United States Navy, retiring after 20 years of Honorable Service with the rank of Senior Chief Radioman in 1994. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

After his Naval career, Gary was a truck driver for Fiderak Trucking and Bryan Miller Trucking before retiring in 2011.

Gary was an avid hunter and fisherman from a very young age, taking hunting trips to Canada and Maine on several occasions. He enjoyed the companionship of his granddogs, Kodiak and Dunkin.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening December 14, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Private Interment with Military honors to be bestowed at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania.

Margaret H. Sullivan
of West High Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania; beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister; passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 79 years of age, while in the tender care of her husband of 56 years, James E. Sullivan.

Born Thursday, July 16, 1942 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Robert W. Barron, and Mary H. (Nichols) Barron - Munichiello. Margaret was also predeceased by her brother, Carl Barron.

In addition to James she is survived by; sons, William E. Sullivan and his wife Renee, John Sullivan and his wife Mary; daughters, Debra Joseph and her husband Kevin, Heather Bailey; brother, Robert Barron and his wife Judy; grandchildren, Ryan, Tori, Calagero, Connor, Colin, Talia; and great grandchildren, Keanna, Troy.

A 1960 Coaldale High School graduate, Margaret retired in 2003 from FBI headquarters in Washington D.C. During her tenure in the federal government, she served with distinction as the executive assistant to three FBI Directors. Margaret most enjoyed spending time with family, but she also loved shouting “BINGO” while enjoying her favorite hobby. The only thing bigger than her smile…was her heart.

Charles J. "Charlie" Fox
, 95, of Tower City, passed away Saturday December 11, 2021 at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville.

Joseph H. Krawczyk Jr., 57 of Ashland passed away Thursday, Dec.9,2021 at the Hometown Nursing & Rehab. Center, Tamaqua, PA. 

Born in Philadelphia, PA May 14,1964 he was the son of Joseph H. And Janice Krawczyk. Surviving are a daughter Samantha Krawczyk and son in law David Berk. A daughter Sidney Hurst, Grandson Isaian Berk, granddaughter Madalynn Berk, granddaughters: Adrianna Krawczyk & Isabella Krawczyk. As per the family’s request, there will be no services.

Joyce Barowski
, 59, of Shenandoah Heights, passed away on Wednesday, December 8th, 2021, at her home.

Born on January 6th, 1962, in Shenandoah, she is the daughter of Edward and Roberta (Wishnefsky) Barowski of Shenandoah Heights.

Joyce was a graduate of Shenandoah Valley High School. She held many jobs throughout her life including a nurse’s aide, some clerical work, and most recently she did logistics for Safe Lite Auto Glass in Hazleton, Pa. Outside of work, Joyce enjoyed going fishing and she loved animals, especially butterflies. You could find her on Wednesday’s walking around the Hometown Auction.

Besides her parents, she leaves behind, a son, Tyler Wierzalis – Shenandoah Heights, a brother, Mark Barowski with Michelle – Walnutport, a niece, Alexa Barowski, and Joyce’s dear friend, Kayte Lally.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, December 15th from 11am to 2pm at the Oravitz Home for Funerals Inc, 40 N. Jardin St, Shenandoah. Services will be conducted at 1:30pm by Deacon Jack Quirk.
