Patricia S. Chess, 75 of Pottsville, died Thursday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill, East.

She was born October 19, 1946 in Pittsburgh a daughter of the late Jacob and Stella Platuks Pozzi.

She was a graduate of South Fayette High School.

She was employed as a Nursing assistant for numerous nursing homes, prior to retiring.

Patricia was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Chess; a son, Douglas Dourlain.

Surviving are her sister, Diane Seward and her husband David, Pottsville; 3 nieces.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial 11AM Friday at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville. The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Patricia be made to Hillside SPCA PO Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Pottsville.

Thomas Kupres, Jr.
, 53, of McAdoo, passed away suddenly Friday evening at his home.

Born in Palmerton, he is the son of Thomas Kupres, Sr. and MayBeth (Porambo) Kupres.

Tom was graduate of Tamaqua High School, class of 1986 and was a member of Church of All Saints, McAdoo.

He was proudly employed with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #542, for the past 33 years.

Tom was an avid Nascar fan. He most enjoyed spending time relaxing in his garage, being outdoors and talking with his friends and family.

Preceding him in death, are his father-in-law, Thomas Sissick, Sr.; paternal grandparents Stephen and Ann Kupres; and maternal grandparents Stanley and Mary Porambo.

Surviving, are his wife of 30 years, Terry (Sissick) Kupres; son Thomas Kupres, III and daughter Kelly Kupres, both at home; his mother MayBeth Kupres, of Andreas; his father Thomas Kupres, Sr., and wife Joyce, of Andreas; sister Michele Kupres-Mace and husband Matthew, of Reading; mother-in-law Joan Sissick, of McAdoo; brothers-in-law Tom, Jeffrey, and Christopher Sissick; sister-in-law Joan Mazurek; and seven nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday at the Damiano Funeral Home, Inc., McAdoo, with Rev. William Baker officiating. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family.

Calling hours are Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the funeral home.
