Ellen Louise Clauser, 79, formerly of Wayne Township, passed away Tuesday, January 25th, at Providence Place of Pine Grove.

Born in Philadelphia on October 12, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Hughes, Sr. & Eva (Fidler) Hughes.

She was the widow of Paul F. Clauser, Jr., her husband of 55 years. Together, the couple had enjoyed trips to Hawaii and Cancun, and attending craft shows.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise is also preceded in death by her son, Paul F. "Skip" Clauser, III, and an infant daughter.

She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ Summer Hill, Auburn, PA. She was a member of the Senior Choir and Friendly Circle and enjoyed helping at church events.

Louise attended Schuylkill Haven schools; she worked several jobs and was a homemaker.

She is survived by a son, Robert P. Clauser, husband of Dana, of Wayne Township; three granddaughters: Lauren Marra, wife of Robert, Cressona, and Linsey & Kaylee Clauser, both at home, a great-grandson, Samuel Marra; as well as four sisters: Margaret Riegel, of Palo Alto, Nancy Clauser, Phyllis Metz, & Donna Koch, and a brother, Lewis Hughes, Jr., all of Schuylkill Haven, nieces and nephews. Louise loved her children and grandchildren and was very proud of all of them.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will begin at 10:30 AM on Monday, January 31st at St. Paul's United Church of Christ Summer Hill, Auburn, with Pastor Kenneth McDowell officiating. There will be no viewing prior to the service. To reduce the spread of Covid-19, please wear a mask and follow all CDC guidelines.

Interment will follow the service at Summer Hill Cemetery, Auburn.

Stella I. Aungst
, 92, of McKinley Ave., Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 in Lebanon.

Born on August 16, 1929 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Clara Webber Phillips.

She was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Pine Grove.

Stella was a Machine Operator at the former Fox Knapp Mfg. in Pine Grove.

Preceding her in death were her husband Marlin E. Aungst, Sr. and a great grandson, Zachary Anspach.

Surviving are a daughter, Geraldine and husband Kenneth Weidman of Lebanon; two sons, Marlin Jr. and wife Elaine Aungst of Lebanon, Gary and wife Sherry Aungst of Pine Grove; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 31, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastors Dalton Weidman and Chris Light officiating. There will be a viewing on Monday, January 31, 2022 from 9:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Pine Grove.

John H. "Wizzy" Wise, 69, of Pine Grove, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 in Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.

Born on February 6, 1952 in Pine Grove, he was a son of the late Charles A. and Beulah E. Zimmerman Wise.

John was a member of the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren, Pine Grove.

He worked at Post Precision Castings in Strausstown.

John loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and had been a volunteer firefighter with Ravine Fire Co.

Preceding him in death were his wife of 40 years, Mary Butler Wise; 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

Surviving are two daughters, Jennifer Wise of Frackville and Jessica Wise of Pine Grove; two sons, John C. Wise, Sr. and Justin Wise, both of Pine Grove; four grandchildren, Taelor Hopple, John C. Wise, Jr., Jossalin Wise, and Connor Wise; two sisters, Ethel Hobe and Barbara Wise, both of Pine Grove.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Pastor Richard Hoffman officiating. There will be a viewing on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Schuylkill Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Pine Grove.

Bruce L. "Choo Choo" Walmer, Sr.
69, formerly of Pine Grove, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in UPMC Pinnacle West Shore.

Born on October 11, 1952 in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Leroy and Mildred I. Miller Walmer.

He was a graduate of Pine Grove High School and received an Associates Degree.

Bruce was a Systems Architect for PHEAA

He was a member of the Train Collectors Association.

Preceding him in death was a brother Rodney.

Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Julianne; a son Bruce Jr. and wife Laura; two daughters, Cassandra and husband Mike, and Rachel; eight grandchildren, Ethan, Owen, Nathaniel, Rose, Lily, Ali, Lexi, and Lena; a sister Lana.

All Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Hetzel's Cemetery, Pine Grove.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to the Hetzel's U.C.C. Memorial Fund, 261 Hetzel's Church Road Pine Grove, PA 17963 in his memory.

William (Bill) Lee Guers
, 69, of Pottsville passed away suddenly Tuesday, January 25th, surrounded with family by his side at St. Luke’s University Hospital in Bethlehem, PA. He was born July 7, 1952 in Pottsville.

He was survived by his wife of 49 years, Marion Guers, his daughter, Pamela Palko and her husband Joseph, Pottsville; his son, Scott Guers and his wife Katie, Corwall, NY; and his four loving grandchildren who adored him: Logan, Joey, Brooke, and Hunter. Bill was one of four siblings; Louise Kalymun, Kristina Guers, and his late brother and best friend, Charles Guers, who preceded him in death in 2004.

Bill was a 1970 graduate of Pottsville Area High School and completed his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanics in 1972 at Williamsport Area Community College. For 25 years he worked with his father in developing a topsoil and mulch business.
 
In 1997, he took ownership of the business with his brother and dedicated his life to the successful operation of their business, Guers Topsoil & Mulch Products, Inc. After Charlie’s passing in 2004, Bill and his wife continued to expand the business into the only self-producing mulch company in Schuylkill County. After twenty-two years of devoting his life to the thriving business, Bill sold it in 2019. The business gained a new name, Guers Topsoil & Much Products LLC, and Bill enjoyed transitioning from owner into employee, spending the past two years working with the new company. He loved to work whether it was operating a loader/excavator or driving a truck.
 
Bill was a lifetime member of the Good Will Fire Company No. 1, Port Carbon. He also served his community as Port Carbon Councilman and council member and council president of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

He enjoyed his retirement traveling with Marion and he took joy in helping her cook by rolling dough for pot-pie, stirring fudge, and cutting up vegetables for soup. He loved watching his grandchildren at sporting events and teaching them how to drive for the first time as well as how to operate loaders and excavators. His life lessons and values will live on.

A Religious Service will be held at the Robert A. Evans Jr. Funeral Home in Port Carbon at 10AM on Saturday, January 29th, with Pastor Lois Sterling officiating.
 
Relatives and Friends are invited to a viewing on Friday evening from 6-8PM and Saturday morning from 9-10AM at the Funeral Home.
 
Interment will be held in the Charles Baber Cemetery in Pottsville.
 
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made for a memorial that will be place at his former topsoil and mulch business c/o the Robert A Evans Jr Funeral Home 208 Pike St., Port Carbon, PA 17965 or in his memory to the Port Carbon Goodwill Fire Company

Carol Ann Fey, R.N.
, 79 of Pottsville died, Tuesday at home.

She was born June 7, 1942 in Pottsville, a daughter of the late Irvin E. and Margaret Christ Fey.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and St. Joseph School of Nursing, Reading.

Carol worked as a registered nurse in Rochester, NY and then Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, prior to retiring.

Carol was a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, Pottsville.

She was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Dolores V. and Evelyn M. Fey, Virginia F. Jackle; 1 brother, Robert F. Fey

Surviving is a nephew Michael G. Jackle; and other nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30AM from St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven, with Msgr. Edward S. Zemanik as celebrant. There will be no visitation prior to mass. Interment will follow in St. John No. 2 Cemetery, Pottsville.

Arrangements are under the care of James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville.
