Arlene May Fabian
, 84, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Friday, March 11th, at Luther Ridge at Seiders Hill Assited Living, Pottsville.
 
Born in Cressona on April 11, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Charles & Stella (Alspach) Yeich.

She was the widow of Steven J. Fabian, who passed away August 24, 2000.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Arlene is also preceded in death by son, Bruce Fabian, and brother, Francis Yeich.

She was a 1955 graduate of Cressona High School.

Arlene was a homemaker most of her life.

Arlene loved golfing, and bowling.She also enjoyed listening to polkas. Arlene created the phone book for the Deer Creek Community - Mockingbird Phase while she resided in Davenport, Florida for more than 20 years.

Arlene is survived by two daughters: Karen, wife of Frank Christian, of Schuylkill Haven; & Cindy, wife of Al Reinhart, of Middletown, PA; and a son, Steven Fabian, Jr., husband of Beth Stone, of Sinking Spring. She is also survived by six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Esther, widow of James Breslin, of Cressona, and a brother, Harry, husband of June Yeich, of Ocean City, MD; and nieces & nephews.

A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 18th at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, Cressona, with Pastor Kevin Fruchtl officiating. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Betty Louise (Brower) Gerber, 103, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, March 8 at Luther Ridge, Pottsville.

Born January 14, 1919 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Gertrude Brower.

She was a graduate of Pottsville High School and the former Empire Beauty School, Pottsville. She was member of Bethany Fellowship Church, Cressona.

Betty worked as a clerical assistant at Bob Miller Cheverolet and also at the former Pottsville Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband the late Howard Leroy Gerber (January 10, 2009), daughters Barbara Catherine Gerber (May 22, 2005) and Dawn Gerber (December 29, 1950). She was the last member of the immediate family.

Betty is survived by daughters Sandra Walters, wife of George, Pottsville and Donna Gerber, Hueston TX; grandchildren Christopher and Steven Walters, both of Pottsville; and several nieces and nephews.

Elmer J. Lazar, 
91, of Frackville passed away Wednesday evening at his residence with his wife Alice by his side.

Born in Kulpmont, March 29, 1930, he was a son of the late Lazlo and Mary Foti Lazar. He was a graduate of West Mahanoy Township High School.

He was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Clair.

He was a past Grand Knight and Recording Secretary of the Rev. James A Hogan, Knights of Columbus Council, 2580 Frackville

Elmer retired after 44 years of service as a Route Salesman for Coca Cola, Palmerton.

He was preceded in death by a son Albert Lazar.

Elmer is survived by his wife of 69 years Alice Ann Schultz Lazar, and their children; Mary Alice Lewis, Steven Lazar, Justine “Tina” Lazar, Mark Lazar and Luke Lazar

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, St. Clair with Msgr. William Glosser as celebrant. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation from 10:00 a.m. till time of Mass Monday morning at the Church. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Cemetery, Englewood/Frackville.

David T. Jones, 73, of St. Clair, Pa passed away last year on Tuesday, February 23rd, 2021, at the Shenandoah Senior Living Community.

Born in Shenandoah on January 29, 1948, he was the son of the late Clarence Jones and Alice Hopkins.

David was a 1966 graduate of the former Shenandoah Catholic H.S. After high school, he served in the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Army. He then worked at Rest Haven Nursing Home and drove for an armored truck service. After his career, he worked and enjoyed his time with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed target shooting, billiards, his family, and friends, lending a helping hand at the A.P. Damato American Legion, and was a die-hard Eagles fan.

Besides his parents, he is preceded by siblings Joanne “Blondie” Jones, Jeanne Houser, and Elizabeth “Betty” Richards.

Surviving are his children, Brian Jones, Stephanie (Brian) Petrow, Alice (Robert) Stearns. Siblings, Clarence “Mickey” (Cheryl) Jones, Mary Mathias, & Kathleen “Kathy” (William) O’Malley; 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 17th at 10:30am in the Annunciation BVM Parish Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights with Deacon Jack Quirk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in David’s memory may be made to the A.P. Damato American Legion Post 792, 116-118 N. Main St, Shenandoah, Pa 17976

Mary Pasek, 97 of Pottsville, died Thursday at home.

She was born June 12, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Albert and Anna Swick Polen

She worked as a seamstress for the International Ladies Garment Workers Union

Mary was of Catholic faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband George Tomko on March 14, 1951; a son Steven Tomko, January 20, 2016; a brother, Paul Brown.

Surviving are her loving, caring, daughter, Evelyn Kovac, Pottsville; 6 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Tomko, Pottsville; her loving sister-in-law, Mary Anna Brown, Tunkhannock; many nieces and nephews.

Service of Remembrance will be held Wednesday at 11AM from the James E. Humphrey Funeral Home, Pottsville, with Deacon Larry Lonergan officiating. Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 10AM until the time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be private.

Thomas J. Brinson, 68, of Coaldale, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in St. Luke’s Hospital, Bethlehem Campus. 

Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Marilene (Lewis) Brinson. He was a 20-year US Air Force veteran, retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. He actively served in Vietnam and Operation Desert Shield. Thomas was kind and generous person who was always mindful of others. He found pleasure in going to thrift stores and yard sales. 

He was also preceded in death by a brother, John and a sister, Cindy Rolph. Surviving are three brothers, Roscoe Brinson Jr., of Hickory, North Carolina, David Brinson, and his wife Patrice, of Conway, South Carolina, and Shannon Brinson, of Atlanta, Georgia; three sisters, Tammy, wife of Dan DeWees, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Holly Whitford, of Coaldale, and Brenda Faro, of Vale, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews. 

Private service.

, 54, of Pottsville, PA, passed away Thursday, March 10th, at St. Luke's Hospital Bethlehem.
