John W. Vermuelen, 76, passed away Sunday, March 27th, at Pottsville Health & Rehabilitation Center, Pottsville, PA.

John was born to his late parents, John & Violet (Bauder) Vermuelen in Coopersburg, PA on June 16, 1945.

He was the widower of Mabel Anna (Guldin) Vermuelen.

John had been employed by Tyler Pipe for 35 years as a fork lift driver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his brother, Harry.

John is survived by his daughter, Tammy Bartolett & her husband, Ben, grandchildren: Scott Wink, Benny Seibert, & Emily Blasko & her husband, Craig, two great-grandchildren, and sisters: Elaine, Marion, Shirley, & Gertrude.

Private services will be held at the family's convenience.

Lamar F. Gilbert, 81, formerly of Lehighton and Schuylkill Haven, passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2022, in Cedarbrook Senior Care and Rehab, Allentown. 

Prior to retiring, he was employed in the IOUE as a heavy equipment operator for Robert Ciccone and then he worked for Gilbert Excavating. Lamar was a lifelong farmer, and he was an experienced woodman and earlier in his life, he operated a sawmill for many years. 

Born at home on the family farm in Strauss Valley, Mahoning Township, he was the son of the late Earl and Laura (Breiner) Gilbert. Lamar served in the Army during the early 60’s and had been stationed in Germany and Italy. He enjoyed farming, the outdoors, antique tractors and going to farm sales. 

He was also preceded in death by a son, Rodney, a brother, Donald, and two sisters, Dolores Beibleheimer and Diann Urban. 

Surviving is a son, Lamar D., and his wife Denise, of Fair Play, SC; daughter, Stephanie, wife of James Akins, of Andreas; brother, Earlyn, and his wife Janice, of Lehighton; nine grandchildren; nieces and nephews. 

Services and interment will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery with full military honors at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Hartman Funeral Home, 1791 West Penn Pike, Rte. 309, New Ringgold.
