Dennis H. Loy
, 83, of Farm Lane, Pine Grove, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at home surrounded by his family.

Born on October 13, 1938 in Washington Twp., he was a son of the late Charles and Alma Moyer Loy.

He was a 1956 graduate of Pine Grove High School and was also President of his class and the FFA.

Dennis was the Guers Milk delivery man in Pine Grove for many years and a lifelong farmer.

He was a member of Hetzel's UCC. He was life member of the Oak Grove Sportsman Club and member of the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Kay Clements Loy, his second wife, Anita Fox Loy; two sisters, Edna Nagle Krammes and Helen Readinger; two brothers, Ivan Loy and Robert Loy.

Surviving are eight children, Sharon and husband Kurt Wessner, Keith Sr. and wife Lori Loy, both of Pine Grove, Kathy Loy and wife Donna Snyder of St. Clair, Cindy Sandler of Pine Grove, Nina and husband Harry Kantner, Sr. of Rehrersburg, Patricia and husband Curt Troup of Lavelle, April and husband James Fisher, James and wife Pamela Kintzel, both of Pine Grove, a son-in-law Mark Sandler of Schuylkill Haven; 16 grandchildren, Linda Pikulin, Leanne Kemmerling, Amanda Dastgheib, Keith Loy, Jr., Michael Sandler, Kirsten Sandler, Lyle Scheer, Jennifer Farley, Faith Zerbe, Jessica Rank, Beth Yost, Paul Neidlinger, Tucker Fisher, Jesse Fisher, Dillon Kintzel, and Dalton Kintzel; 20 great grandchildren; a sister Irma Fessler of Pine Grove; two sisters-in-law, Anna Faye Loy and Marie Loy, both of Pine Grove; nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Grove with Rev. Eugene Eckroth officiating. There will be a viewing on Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be live streamed on the H. L. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook page.

In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions be made to either Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care, 1001 James Drive Suite B-34 Leesport, PA 19533 or Fox Chase Cancer Center, Office of Institutional Advancement, 333 Cottman Ave., Philadelphia, Pa. 19111 in her memory.

Michelle “Mel” Pekarik, 51, of Pottsville, passed away on Friday, April 8, at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Cedar Crest.

Born on September 19, 1970 in Pottsville, she was the daughter of John “Jake” Pekarik and Mary Ann (nee Petravich) Pekarik, Minersville. She was a graduate of Minersville High School; and attended Penn State. She had worked for JDM before entering health care as a nurse’s aide.

In addition to her parents, Mel is survived by her companion, Janet Earhart; aunts and uncles.

Services were private.
